36 week cervix check?

I went in for my 36 week appointment (my first baby) and they said I’m 3 and 1/2 cm dilated already, with cervix being very very thin and doctor was able to feel his head! Said he was very low, and she does not see me making it to my due date at all!! I’m wondering how long it will be until I may start feeling any contractions? Has anybody else had something like this happen?

    Could be 3 hours, could be 3 weeks.

    I walked around dilated at 4 for 4 weeks and it felt like a bowling ball was about to drop out at any time. .  So no one can tell you only baby will come when ready.

    I was 4cm dilated at 35 weeks with my first. She was born at 41 weeks so it didn’t end up meaning anything. Early cervix checks really don’t give you any information whatsoever. You could go into labor tomorrow….could be 5 more weeks. Try not to think about it. Baby will come when they are ready.

    I am currently 38 weeks & 5 days pregnant with my 1st. Yesterday I went for my cervix check and a sweep. Very uncomfortable feeling. Today I'm seeing mucus discharge with some brown tinge to it, not lots. I'm assuming its my mucus plug. My due date is October 13th, 2022. Baby can come anytime I've been told. 1 more week plus 2 days. I'm excited.
