Watery Discharge

Good night ladies. I’m almost 22 weeks with a cerclage placed at 14 weeks. While it was not a gush, I’ve had some watery fluids drained down my legs for the past two days on and off. I went to my doctor’s office, but he’s assured me that all is fine. Any idea what this could be? As he gave me no explanation as to what the fluid is, just stating that my amniotic fluid is more than sufficient.. it doesn’t smell like pee and my discharge has usually been more on the thick side. Also, I went into the emergency room last night because of the draining and was told I had a cervix length of .90cm, however today when I got the chance to go to my usual doctor, he reported that it was over 2cm.. is this usual?? For length to increase so quickly?

Re: Watery Discharge

  • You should ask your doctor to give you a referral for an ultrasound so they could measure the amount of amniotic fluid, it will help you ease your mind. To answer “everything is fine” and no more explanation is strange.

  • I agree with Anny get an ultrasound/second opinion for peace of mind! I also had watery discharge around 20 weeks and my nurse advised me to go to the ER. I got an ultrasound to check baby and all was good. Doctor said some women just produce more discharge than others and it can change texture.
