What my pregnant self is eating -September

What are you all eating?

I'm drinking a lot of lemon water with stevia drops. I'm finding it's the only way I can easily down the water!

It’s been crazy hot here, so salads have been my thing. It’s pretty easy to turn almost any meal into a good salad!

  • My 11yo daughter had a craving for fried chicken and wanted KFC, which we never go out to get. We risked it and went there to grab dinner last night and proved why. I remember how I basically only like their side dishes and just don’t care for their chicken. It’s just not good quality and makes you really appreciate those nicer restaurants and what they serve.
  • @cpk3535 I went there a couple of times early on in pregnancy because I just wanted mashed potatoes and they were the closest place. They aren’t gourmet mashed potatoes but they worked. Until I went and there was a huge clump of uncooked potato flakes in the center.  Gross.  I think they have gone down in quality.
  • @angbaby83 Yeah, totally! I thought the potatoes looked much more watery, so flakes don’t surprise me at all. If anything, that trip just made me appreciate Chick-fil-A and Costco stuff that we eat more regularly, lol 😂
  • I be eating chicken wing, spaghetti, pork chops, fries, whatever I have a taste for that's what I'm going to eat .
  • Today’s supposedly National Cheeseburger Day (probably paid for by restaurants, lol) but we’re going to “celebrate” it by going to In-n-Out tonight. Always a pretty easy choice, lol!!
  • @sophirolr funny you mentioned that- I actually ordered mine protein style and served it on a salad 😂 It was good!
  • Apples! Nice cold honeycrisp apples are my jam right now.

also, I hate this app. I haven’t been able to reply to posts for weeks. I had to delete and redownload the app
  • @kristinl492 the app sucks. I usually just use the mobile site.

I love apples. But lately I’ve been really enjoying grapes.  That’s probably the healthiest thing I eat because the nausea is still terrible 😫
  • @angbaby83 I’m sorry you’re having so much nausea. That sounds so miserable!

My husband is out of town, so I’ve been having a typical weird-food-he-won’t-eat week. I’ve basically been living on red cabbage, mustard greens, fried green tomatoes, extra spicy cheese, and roasted black radishes, with lots of fruit for snacks. The mustard greens seemed to get the baby riled up, which was fun to feel, and my husband informed me that if I made him eat mustard greens, he’d probably kick me, too 😂. I may have to make them again and see if it keeps working.
  • I bought some chili cornichons yesterday and couldn't stop eating them. I've also been putting kalamata olives on my gluten free pretzels with hummus. I'm finding weird snacks that I'm able to eat with my extensive list of foods I can no longer eat.
  • @seeds_of_joy now I think I have to try olives on hummus and pretzels, because I never thought of that but it sounds delicious! I’m glad you’re finding some good snack options within your dietary restrictions, too.
