2nd Trimester

What’s New That You’re Noticing (Vent Session)

Hey mommies!

Just here to vent about these new symptoms I’m experiencing. I’ll be making 27 weeks on Friday, and man my baby girl is hitting me now; exhausting me a little honestly.

I’m feeling lots of movement now; almost had a scared moment because she likes to tense up and my stomach gets really tight and small.

While most women say they want to eat everything, I still feel like I’m in the first trimester with my eating. Not really hungry. Still having bad heartburn. Don’t want to eat too much. Drinking water too fast makes me nauseous.

I’m starting to feel sooooooo heavy - I know she’s not even done growing yet, but I’m feeling the weight now. Some back aches.

It’s been a struggle attempting to get out the bed the correct way now lol - not doing a crunch and rolling onto my side instead.

My sinuses are going crazy, I wake up slightly congested everyday.

Buttttt that’s my rant.

  • Aw man! I am 23 and feeling the same! I know you did not necessarily ask for any advice but I will say the one thing that’s helped me feeling less “heavy” is taking lots of baths at night with some epsom salt. A friend told me this recently and I’m not someone who likes bubble baths but decided to try it as a last resort because my back was starting to hurt really bad, and it really helped. Especially helped my anxiety/restlessness! Hope you feel better!

  • I’m only 20 weeks and already feeling heavy and having some back pain. I second the baths, or anything where you can get into water to be weightless. Being in a pool is so much more comfortable than being on land, so even though I’m not usually an indoor pool person, I’m seriously thinking of getting a membership near me to use through the winter. And my cousin started going to a float tank at about 6 months with her last pregnancy and said it was so relaxing and offered some relief from the back pain, plus they ordered a special pillow that let her float on her stomach comfortably, so if that’s an option that sounds good to you, it’s worth looking into.

I’m also always a fan of yoga to help stretch and relax my back, and you can do some of the specific stretches that feel good without doing a whole session if yoga isn’t usually your thing.

I’m also not a fan of my feet swelling and legs aching, which is new. It’s still mild, like nobody else would notice, but I obviously expect it to get worse as my kid gets bigger, and I’m on my feet and often standing in one place all day, which definitely exacerbates it. I’ve gotten some compression socks which help some, but I thought I’d have longer before I had this issue.
