I am 17 weeks pregnant, 2nd pregnancy and my bump is not popping yet. I just look like I ate too much. I also don’t feel any movement. Is there anyone else going through this stage?
Yes! I am going through this. At 16 weeks, I just looked like I had gained some weight. Sometime during week 17, it looked like my bump popped overnight. My clothes also stopped fitting at 17 weeks. However, my bump isn’t large enough to be a noticeable baby bump. I’m at 18 weeks now, and it just looks like I gained even more weight. I can tell that I’m pregnant, but I don’t think others would be able to tell, so I’m just super uncomfortable leaving the house because of how I look. Hopefully, I’ll feel better once my bump is more noticeable.
I’m nearly 19 weeks now, and I have a bump if I’m in very tight clothes and you already know how I was shaped before. So my husband, friends, and family can tell, but everybody else thinks I’m just shaped like this. I’ve only gained about 2 lb/1 kg, too, so it’s just weight shifting, but I’m definitely a little impatient for the time when I feel like I look actually pregnant rather than just like I had a really big lunch.
This has been kind of upsetting me too. I’m 18weeks tomorrow and it’s like You can’t even tell, plus most of my symptoms have gone away so I border line don’t even seem pregnant. It’s frustrating for me to feel like this when this is my first pregnancy, I really thought I’d feel more by now. Plus everyone keeps telling me what I should be feeling and it’s making me feel behind the curve.
@fertile-turtle the clothes do make a difference. I was wearing a non maternity jumpsuit and a neighbor ran into me at the store and looked at me funny. The next day I saw him again and had a tight maternity shirt on... definitely looked prego with that tight shirt. Then he felt confident enough to ask but was still nervous because he had a bad experience of asking some drunk lady at a club who wasn't pregnant 🤭 so I gather I must look pregnant enough in the right maternity shirts.
After this many kids, it's harder to hide but I think style of clothing has a lot to do with it. Maternity shirts that flow out above the bump might help too.
I’m feeling this, too. If my body isn’t on display as pregnant, I just look sloppy and heavy. When I put on pjs at night, I look totally dumpy, lol. During the day, I’m mostly just wearing my normal track pants and things with maternity t-shirts and those stretchy bands over the pants waist line to hold them up/smooth them out. The pair of pants I wore yesterday sits low and would probably fall down if I don’t hold it up with a belly band. Trying to avoid jeans for various reasons (mostly just too hot here).
Same here. Also 17 weeks and I just look like I have a fat belly right now even though I'm not really overweight. I just have loose skin from having my daughter. I haven't felt any movement yet either.
I feel the exact same. I don't have a notice bump yet just looks like I have gained weight. People keep reassuring me though that it will come before you know it. I am 17weeks and haven't felt any movements yet either but I'm a first timer so it's hard to know what I'm looking for
Re: I don’t look pregnant I just look fat!
