Cramping - ugh

Hello! This is my first pregnancy, and the nausea, I expected. The fatigue? Not surprising. But no one prepared me for the period-like cramps! For the first couple of weeks, they were pretty sporadic. But for the last few days, they’ve been pretty consistent. No bleeding/spotting and they’re not one-sided, so doctor says nothing to be concerned about at the moment. But it’s hard not to be! Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Cramping - ugh

  • Sounds like "round ligament pain" and it was Very annoying!! It is the uterus growing to make room for the baby.
I had that for first few months then eventually the "pelvic girdle pain" in the last few months.
I enjoyed pregnancy, but noone warned me of those!
    Good luck 😊

  • Cramping is very common and normal. This is my 4th pregnancy and the cramping is worse than I remember. Around four weeks I was spotting and cramping so bad I thought either I wasn’t really pregnant or I was going to lose the baby. But it is absolutely normal.
  • I had really bad cramps the first few weeks. I’m 10 weeks now and haven’t had them in about 3 weeks. It was definitely worse than period cramps for me- but they were sporadic, not one sided, and I had no spotting, so the doctor was not concerned. I hope they go away soon for you too!
  • I’m so thankful to have come across this thread. I’m 10 weeks today and just started having cramps this last week - no spotting/bleeding. But it has me all sorts of worried and I have mild anxiety to begin with so my emotions have been all over the place with this cramping and the unknowns. Doesn’t help that this is my first pregnancy and I’m 35. Thankfully we had our first ultrasound two days ago and everything looked great 🙏🏼
