Upcoming Appointments: NT Scan October 7

How are you feeling?: Like garbage. Up until two nights ago I had only dry heaved. I’m now full on vomiting multiple times a day.

Rants/Raves: My husband is leaving the state for a funeral for two days and I will be solo parenting. I’m really hoping this nausea/vomiting let’s up for those two days because I don’t know if I can handle it. On the bright side, my husband will be flying back with my in laws and they will help a lot while they’re here. And once October comes our schedule will finally be back to normal.

Questions:

GTKY: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Loud chewing/chewing with mouth open. My husband and MIL are the worst at this but luckily I have got my husband so that he’s better about it.

How are you feeling?: So dang tired. My son has a molar coming in and wakes up coughing multiple times a night from all the excess saliva, so my husband and I have been taking turns going in to hold him upright and rock him back to sleep. Plus our dang rooster keeps crowing outside my bedroom window at 4/5am 😡. Add that to just standard 1st tri exhaustion and dang do I need a nap 😴

Rants/Raves: Kinda rant above regarding our rooster 😆

Questions: anyone else waking up to pee a million times already? I don't remember it being this bad this early on last time! Maybe I'm just doing a good job at hydrating lol

GTKY: What’s your biggest pet peeve? SLOW WALKERS, especially when they are oblivious to people trying to get around them and/or hogging up the sidewalk

How are you feeling?: exhausted, moody, and tired of my boobs hurting, but OK all things considered.

Rants/Raves: Ugh. I haven’t told anyone in my family yet, and recently learned of another’s loss in our nuclear family group. I’m devastated for her, but also struggling with feeling “cut out” of any chance of having support now that she’s asked me to essentially disappear while I’m pregnant…..

@iiirene oh boy, I'm so sorry about all the vomiting! Hopefully you're get a reprieve for a few days. Stay strong! (Btw, what did you decide about your anniversary? Are you going to that concert?)

@nsk489 I'm ROFL'ing about the rooster. When we still lived in SF, someone got a ROOSTER IN THE CITY 1 block over from us. Apparently that was legal?! Lol. The neighborhood was up in arms. Remind me... do you live on a farm?

@gingerbunny23 slow drivers in the fast lane = California drivers. It's AWFUL. I'm from the East coast (of Canada, but still) and I just understand how ppl don't understand the concept of the fast/passing lane. As of your family member who cut you out...I'm really sorry. Having been there though, I can honestly say it's a VERY dynamic / difficult time and she might change her mind once she's had time to grieve and heal. Be kind to both of you.

@acleverusername we’re going to the concert 🙄 it’s not my favorite thing but my husband is having a really difficult time and this is important to him. The next day we’re going to my best friends vow renewal. Two weeks later I’m going to a wedding in California. Then I’m not doing anything or making any plans ever again. I’m so tired of being busy

@iiirene totally hear you on being busy. I was SO busy all the time before Covid. Then COVID really taught me how to be comfortable with myself / with staying at home. I've gone from being a hyper extrovert to being very comfortable with being alone / not wanting to make any plans.

@acleverusername oh gosh most places have laws against roosters within city limits! Lol! But yes we live on a farm--traded in the East Coast city life in 2020 for the farm life in Oregon. We keep accidentally ending up with roosters (buying/hatching chicks and you're bound to end up with one or two). The last one met his demise during my last pregnancy bc he kept messing with my sleep....this one is sure to meet the same fate. He is really handsome though

@nsk489 it exhausts me too. It was never like this until I had a kid and even then this month seems extreme. I have 0 plans for the entire month of October and I get a week off for fall break during which I am going to do nothing but sleep.

Upcoming Appointments: Just had a follow up growth scan today & all looked great, baby is still measuring a week behind where I thought I was based on LMP but it showed a weeks worth of growth & had a strong heartbeat so I am feeling optimistic!

How are you feeling?: Tired with random nausea. Also ravenous.

Rants/Raves: Raving about my happy update from this morning's appointment! Ranting that I'm a week less far along than I thought... I want out of the first tri!

Questions: Has anyone else measured behind LMP EDD and if so, did they officially change your due date? Both of my other babies came in week 39 so I'm curious here if they will change my dates.

@MsBeachNJ so glad to hear about your growth scan!! No personal experience with your question but I feel like most OBs don't mess with the EDD and usually stick with the one based off your LMP. Especially if you're only measuring a week off. I could be wrong though!

How are you feeling?: generally, still pretty nauseous throughout the day. I am definitely looking forward to whenever I start feeling better and can enjoy more about being pregnant.

Rants/Raves: someone no showed at work this morning, and while I really appreciate not having to sit through that meeting, it's also infuriating that they didn't cancel. It takes a lot for me to gear up for work when I'm feeling like crap, so having to get prepared for nothing was especially irritating this morning.

How are you feeling?: not as tired, very nauseous (just dry heaving, no actual vomitting). I have been getting migraines every couple of days which is absolutely worse than the constant vomiting I had with my first.

Rants/Raves: I think I might be starting to show already? I mean my clothes are certainly tight and I'm wearing my maternity pants now. Which is cool but problematic as I have yet to tell my business partners... I'm hoping no one figures it out until I'm ready to discuss it lol. Also these migraines. I literally cannot function. I've literally had to start late for work one day and knock off early for another because of them

Questions: anyone else experience migraines while pregnant and if so what gives you relief? Tylenol does nothing for me

GTKY: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
I absolutely hate it when someone changes a song on the radio or cd player before the current song is finished. It makes me feel incomplete and drives me crazy. And my husband is the biggest culprit. Just let it finish playing out!

@maggied26 so glad you posted about migraines, I was just coming to ask the same thing! Idk if I would classify mine as migraines but they are definitely the worst headaches of my life. Tylenol is doing nothing for me either. Let me know if you find any solutions!

@nsk489 if I ever find a solution I'll definitely share. Unfortunately I'm already prone to migraines but I don't usually get them quite so frequently. With my daughter, i didnt get migraines until the last few weeks before she was born so I'm really hoping this won't be the whole pregnancy. I tend to get intense visual auras that come on quick and basically block my entire field of vision and within 10 minutes I'm in bed because of the pain.

@maggie2324 and @nsk489 - mine are often triggered by dehydration, even if I'm chugging water. Try introducing Liquid IV packs - they have helped me immensely ! You can grab them on Amazon.

@MsBeachNJ - SAME! I love liquid IV, and it does seem like dehydration has been the primary culprit behind the headaches I've been having in pregnancy so far....Historically, I've had severe and frequent migraines (used to take daily preventative medications for them), but I've been lucky thus far and have not had any pregnancy migraines *fingers crossed*

@ladyofarlington…..I still can’t quite decide if I should be laughing or nauseous at the thought of how gross that habit is. I never realized that was something on my pet peeve list until I read it here LOL! 🤞travel and work go well for you this week!
