I think I’m going to have to start doing grocery pick up/delivery for the next few weeks. The smells of the grocery store are just too much right now.

@iiirene - I started doing grocery pickup during Covid & never looked back!!! The ONLY grocery store I will go into is Trader Joes & its just because I love to see & explore all of their new/seasonal stuff. I loathe regular grocery stores!

I went to the grocery store Saturday, and then my husband had the audacity to ask me to GO. SOMEWHERE. ELSE. afterwards. I told him the smells and temperature changes were simply too much, I needed a nap. I'll do pickup from now on, if I can get my ish together.

I can’t remember the last time I went in to a grocery store. I’ve had all groceries delivered for years, except for at the height of Covid when delivery was impossible to schedule. Definitely wouldn’t want to go now!

So, because we're not revealing baby's sex to anyone until after birth, we're also not sharing a "real" list of potential name candidates (because I DO NOT want anyone's opinion, least of all my family's even though my sister is the only person in my family who'll know about this pregnancy given that I don't talk to my parents.) Anyways, so MH and I have started a list of "fake" names to share with people and here are the top 2 candidates for each sex (first name, middle name):

Boy: Barack Nixon + <our last name>
Girl: Ruth Bader Melania + <our last name>

If you'd like to help with ridiculous name generation, please add yours! (PS I'm REALLY enjoying this.)

ETA: added "Bader" to girl name.

I didn't like sharing potential names either but my husband couldn't keep it to himself last time. The only person I actually *wanted* to tell (both last time and this time) is my younger sister bc we were both pregnant at the same time (and are again now!!) and we wanted to make sure we weren't "stealing" each other's favorite potential names 😆

@nsk489 That's so precious that you and your sis are pregnant at the same time! What a special bond for you and the cousins!

My sister had her babes in her early 30's so I definitely missed that train, but 2 of my friends are pregnant right around now, so I'm v. excited to be sharing this journey with them!

@acleverusername yes it's so fun being pregnant at the same time as my sister! We are 14 months apart and have always been best friends. Our first babes are 3.5 months apart and these next 2 will be 4.5 months apart. It's been fun watching them grow up together, just wish we didn't live on opposite sides of the country!
For names....how about a Madonna Cher? Or perhaps William Wonka.
Also a big "fan" of unique names or spellings....this one FB group I'm in, somebody asked for baby name help and said she prefers classic boy names, nothing "weird". Some of the suggestions given were: Jasper Boone, Roswell Tobias, Cash Boone (seriously, what's up with Boone?!), Hennessey Merle, etc. I was dying 🤣

@nsk489 unique spellings drive me batty. Basically change every vowel to a Y on any name, add a silent H or two. Why name your kid Christina when she can be Chrysthynyh?

They officially changed my due date to 4/23... I feel cheated in that I now have an extra week of first tri... both my girls came in week 39 anyway (#2 came a full week early) so I'm still mentally operating with 4/15 EDD

I just told my dad about the pregnancy! I wasn’t going to do it until later this weekend, but then he told me he’s going on a hunting trip tomorrow and won’t be available for over a week. Since I’m telling everyone else on Sunday I didn’t want him to be the last in the family to know! So I jumped on FaceTime and told him I went to the doctor and needed his second opinion (he’s a retired doctor and I do this all the time), held the ultrasound pic up to the screen and asked him what he could see. He started crying. It was so sweet. I wish I could have told him in person like last time, but this was pretty good too.

My busy season from hell is almost over. Just one more wedding in two weeks then we have absolutely 0 plans until November. We did have a really nice time celebrating our anniversary today and the concert was nice, our friend in the band even gave us a little shout out which was cute.

My husband went to the coast today to go crabbing (that's what he wanted to do for his birthday) so I've been solo parenting all day. Which normally is whatever but I'm exhausted....I didn't sleep well and then my son woke up at 630am (he heard my husband leaving) so an hour earlier than normal. I stupidly tried to catch up on house things while he napped instead of also napping. He's just been so cranky today which is making ME cranky and we are stuck inside bc it is smokey outside from wildfires. I hate blah days like this! Hoping hubby is home before dinner/bath/bedtime bc I don't have the energy today 😬

@nsk489 ugh we’re stuck inside because of the smoke too and it sucks because this is probably the last weekend with summer heat! Definitely some crankiness going on here too, solidarity.
