Baby Movement?

I’m a first time mom after four losses and have felt small movements the past few weeks but VERY infrequently. Flutters around 16 weeks then really nothing. At 17 weeks a stronger sensation of movement and then again, nothing. I’m at 18,3 and am not sure if that’s normal or I should be concerned. The longer it goes without feeling anything the more worried I get.

Re: Baby Movement?

  • This is my first pregnancy. I’m at 18 weeks today and haven’t felt any movement yet. Nothing at all. I was told that it might not start until closer to 20-22 weeks. I’m not really sure though.

  • It’s early still for consistent movements.  And some babies just move less. I wouldn’t be worried at this point. I’m not feeling much of anything but when I went to my last appointment baby was moving so much so that just means I’m just not feeling it yet. Talk to your provider and hopefully they can reassure you.

  • Okay, thank you! That’s another weird thing at every appointment they say they’re moving a ton- but you know the appointments are only once a month. I just wasn’t sure since I felt it and now haven’t vs not feeling it yet at all.
  • I’ve felt a few flutters here and there. But I think I feel them a bit sooner because this is my 4th pregnancy.
With my first pregnancy, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. But I felt movements closer to 20 weeks then. Just take it easy, everyone is different. Congratulations ❤️
  • knottie2f93448b4aec7eaa I had these exact same questions/insecurities as a FTM. Flutters until 24/25 weeks, then the baby kicks started. It's been gangbusters in there ever since. Good luck!
