Who else is excited and terrified because they’re having their first baby, and have been completely overwhelmed by information, how many strollers are available for sale, the amount of times you have to pee, pregnancy acne (didn’t even know that one was coming at 36!!), the complete and utter exhaustion, and the thought that your life is going to be flipped upside down?! Share your positive vibes to help me and other mommas calm down and enjoy the ride, because I for sure am having weekly meltdowns!! I’m looking at you, 2nd or 3rd+ time mommas, to tell us how awesome it is on the other side!!
Re: First time momma who’s excited AND terrified!
I’m no longer scared but am still anxious of miscarrying daily. All the websites say how being over 35 is high risk. 😞 I can’t wait for the first scan to know that it’s not ectopic and to get some reassurances.
1. My cousin, who is a year younger than me just delivered her first, and while he was a few weeks early, he is healthy and thriving.
2. My MIL had a dream around the time of conception that was eerily specific (4/29, 3:12 AM, 7 lb 11 oz, boy), which I believe was a prophetic dream.
3. I know that God will carry me through anything. Whether it's a loss, birth defects, or even something as mundane as having a healthy and robust teenager in the house as I approach 60
I am definitely worried about all sorts of things, too, so hopefully we can find some support in each other here.
Cheers! ❣️
I’m pretty sure this will be my first and last pregnancy. I don’t think I’ll ever want to put myself through this much stress again. 😅
It's wild just how impactful it can be, even when you've only known about this little life for a short time.
Just know, you're not alone, and this is not the end of your journey. And it's ok to allow yourself to mourn.
I have complicated feelings about being this old with my first. But then I think of how balanced, secure, and joyful my life is after many years of struggle. And I think this is going to be one lucky kid. ❤️
