Weekly Symptoms Thread 8/22

How are you feeling this week?

Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread 8/22

  • I FEEEEL this gif lately.

  • My mom has Covid and was over for dinner last night 😭

So today starts another nail biting week of “is it Covid, pregnancy, or this rocking bronchitis I already have?!” for every symptom I have.

Oh and everything is revolting. Or if I can stomach it, I immediately have gas/heartburn.
  • @Wishilivedinflorida ugh that sounds like such an awful situation. Hope things get better soon!

I threw up for the first time today. I'm very lucky that it's such a rare thing for me, but my job site only has Porta potties and that was just not a fun experience.
  • @gravcass oh god, that sounds awful. probably would have made me puke more, hovering over a porta potty to hurl  :s
  • @Wishilivedinflorida oh no 😞 hopefully everyone starts to feel better soon.

@gravcass ah that does sound awful.

I'm feeling ok, the nausea comes and o just have to eat for it to go away. The minimal symptoms make me nervous since I had a MC last time. All my tests were perfect, and the US showed a baby with a healthy HB so I'm trying not to worry, but of course I am.
  • @gravcass Ugh that sounds so awful! I hope it’s just a one off for you.
  • I’ve been burp/throwing up a bit in my mouth. It’s horrible. Not full vomiting but it’s definitely not my favorite thing.

I think someone has said this already but I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired.
  • Last week (week 11 for me) was the most brutal. I have luckily not to throw up but I feel like that’s partly through forcing myself not to 😅. Last Thursday I spent an hour pacing around my bedroom with a puke bucket, naked, sweating buckets, hyperventilating, and crying/laughing at how horrible pregnancy is. I had my best friend on the phone for moral support. This week starts week 12 and I’m feeling a bit better (knocks on wood). Really really hoping this is the sign that morning sickness is going away! My boss has let me work fully remote for the summer but this fall I have a bunch of work to do in the office and my work is a 2 hour commute (one way) so I need to start feeling better so I can manage the drive. I’ve gotten used to being a passenger princess this summer.
  • @excitedforpiscesbaby I feel ya on the sweating! I had completely forgotten about pregnancy hot flashes!
Glad your friend was available to help you through.
  • Anyone else having round ligament pain? I thought it was too early for me, especially as a FTM. But my midwife says it's completely normal and definitely not too early 😅

I feel kinda weird that I don't have traditional morning sickness, like I guess I should feel lucky but it does make me nervous.
  • I came back to say I'm a liar 😅 I've been feeling amazing the past few days and forgot my morning sickness is at night and that's why I can't eat dinner late. Luckily no throwing up but nausea isn't fun
  • @auriculatus yeeep. Lots of RLP pain and sciatica already. Pregnancy is so fun.

  • Nausea got better last week, but man the bloat was strong! I noticed I will only get nauseous if I’m coughing a lot…mainly in the morning 🙃
  • @TortugaAzul- That actually sounds like acid reflux. You could try some Tums and see if that helps.

Agreed. And if that isn’t helpful my OB is ok with Pepcid or omeprazole. I normally take protonix for chronic GERD but had to quit cold turkey. I’m planning on hopping on nightly Pepcid once I hit 2nd tri. What you are describing is what happens to me when I hit third tri. It’s awful. Right now I’m taking tums almost daily.

If it keeps happening it’s definitely worth asking about!
  • @marebear15 well that’s a new one for me. I’ll try it out and talk to my doctor.

I finally actually threw up for the first time last night, right before bed and then couldn’t sleep. So that was fun. 😔
  • I’m into week 10. I can’t tell if I’m starting to feel better like coming out of the morning sickness phase or if I’m getting better at preventing it. I’ve got saltines and water by my bed to snack on if I’m nauseous at night/in the morning. I eat something small every hour while awake pretty much instead of eating 3 big meals. I’ve only actually thrown up once and that was while brushing my teeth. I changed to an electric toothbrush and I just stop and skip the harsh mouth wash or tongue scrapper if I’m getting too close to throwing up. I haven’t been up for working out if a few weeks but I considered going to yoga Wednesday, but found out the class I normally go to in canceled for good.

I’ve definitely felt less anxious since the first ultrasound went well.

Hoping it’s both preventative and also coming out of this phase. My sister was really sick her whole pregnancy and got gestational diabetes and now has type 2. I’m hoping to be a bit luckier than her. Fingers crossed.
  • THANK YOU FOR SUGGESTING TUMS!!

That helped so much tonight! I always thought acid reflux and heartburn were the exact same thing and it was supposed to hurt. 😅 But I took some after dinner right when I was usually having problems and nothing tonight, just a bit of nausea.
  • Welp, it finally happened - I finally puked! I feel sort of proud about it lol. I had thought by week 12 I’d be in the clear but apparently not! I’m assuming (and hoping) that this is a sign my body is finishing creating the placenta and that soon I’ll feel better. We’ll see!
  • @excitedforpiscesbaby this week was my first too. Week 11. Hoping this is over soon!! But happy for the reminder my body is doing work.
  • I am still so freaking tired and drained. I slept all day yesterday and after grocery shopping today I'll probably be going back to sleep. I'm glad I'm a FTM cause idk how mothers with children deal with this 😂

You just…do it. I can’t explain where the energy comes from. I just threw a huge birthday party for my daughter. Been going since 6:30 🥵
  • @auriculatus, @Wishilivedinflorida is right. Women are amazing. It's amazing what you can do when you don't have a choice. 😂

  • 9 wks 4 days and I’m only getting sicker. Heartburn is awful and struggling to eat foods that don’t make it worse.
  • @auriculatus I just have one (almost 3 year old). I'm barely hanging on and my husband is doing a lot more. He'll make dinner and if I throw up and can't even, he'll wash the dishes and make the toddler lunch for daycare the next day. I am so grateful!
  • @Mercury1985 Ask your OB if you are allowed to trial Pepcid or Prilosec. These were ok’ed by my group but I’m trying to hold off until 2nd tri. I normally take protonix for chronic GERD and I am suffering, so I feel you. I’ve been eating the max Tums allowed most days.
  • @auriculatus I agree with @Wishilivedinflorida and @nopegoat, you just somehow find the energy. I try to nap when DD naps on the weekends too.
