So lately my wife has been talking the baby out at 6pm every day in a stroller because she wants to baby to sleep better. The stroller is covered with a thin breathable fabric and the baby is completely shaded, but the temperature outside is 90 degrees and sometimes 92. Sundown is 7:45pm in California. She would walk for 1 hour each day at around 6ish. The sun is still pretty strong out and everytime I plead with her to not go she wont listen. Is it dangerous for the baby with these walks? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Re: Walking with stroller with 5 month old

  • Im in AZ and I take my 5 month old baby for walks around the same time. Its typically around 94 degrees when I take her out but I carry her either in my arms or in the baby carrier so she is in the sun and we are only out for about 20 minutes. You can tell based on the baby how they are doing. If their face gets red and hot its time to bring them in. If your baby is shaded I would say its fine but an hour is quite a long time. But definitely go off the babies signals. Whenever I get worried about stuff like this my friends remind me that babies have survived for a long time and there hasn't always been air conditioning. Hope I helped! Its awesome to be an active parent!
