Hi! For those who already have a child(ren), what tips, tricks, or preparation are you doing to help your child(ren) adjust to the idea of having a sibling?
I thought this could be an ongoing thread that we do by trimester since actively involving the older kids will look different as the pregnancy progresses.

I did ask the kids if they would ever want a baby and they both said yes the other day though! Although DD said she wanted 2 babies specifically and I am praying this isn’t a prophesy. 🤣
Our 3 year old, on the other hand has wanted nothing but a baby for as long as she's known what a baby is haha
Every time we've been pregnant the past 2 years, she's known. This time was no exception. She started talking to the "baby in Mommy's belly" 2 days before I got my positive. She asks every day to "see" the baby and will look at the different pictures on my apps every day, as well as carry around my pregnancy book and look at the picture of the baby at our current gestation in there. She will even sit and patiently listen to me read the description for each week. She'll grab the book off the shelf and try to show her dad when he gets home from work. She's even already asked me if she can be there when the baby is born haha
She also keeps telling me there's 2 babies in my tummy, but I think that's because she wants a baby sister and DD#1 wants a baby brother and that's her solution, one of each lmao
As far as preparing her goes, when we're further along I'm going to get her some books about being a big sister to read together. Right now I'm focusing on the final stages of potty training her (mostly getting her to wear underwear instead of being bare buns all over the place). And when we get back from vacation we're going to start working on getting her to stay in her own room at night since she still comes crawling into bed with us every night. Since she wants the baby to sleep in her room with her, I think it'll create a nice incentive for her.
