Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Tuesday 7/26

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: TWW Tuesday 7/26

  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 24/12DPO

    Timing: -1

    Typical LP length: 12 days

Testing: BFN again this morning, but still not giving up hope...

R/R: Still spotting on and off, which is still not normal for me. I'd just like to get out of limbo at this point.

CS/Q: I've been using FRER tests up until now but I've been hearing mixed reviews about them--specifically that too many of them show indent lines. Anyone else feel these tests aren't as good as they used to be?

  • Month/Cycle: 4

    CD/DPO: 20/8

    Timing: super

Typical LP length: it hasn’t seemed to make up its mind yet

    Testing: Saturday

R/R: I have a great distraction during this TWW and it’s been helpful to keep my mind occupied.

CS/Q: Nope. I decided this cycle to stop temping after my rise. Partly because I’m lazy and forgetful, partly because I don’t personally find a lot of value in it after confirming ovulation.

@hestia-is-wearie sorry you’re feeling like you’re in limbo. I was definitely feeling that way last cycle too. I don’t have much advice concerning types of pregnancy tests. I still use FRER and have honestly never had any sort of indent.
  • @iiirene I haven't been temping lately either. I tend to hit my snooze alarm a lot and sometimes my cat wakes me up right before my alarm. But I've heard that an elevated BBT can be an early sign of pregnancy!
  • *lurking from the dark corners of IF* to say that @iiirene is right in that post-O temps don't tell you much except they give you your own personal sense of what is usually normal for you. some people will have a tell-tale drop-off in temps a couple-three days before they bleed. that's super common. but @hestia-is-wearie i run a high temp right up till the day i bleed (usually 15-16DPO) when suddenly my temp drops like a stone. in my experience, keeping track of my luteal phase is always disappointing because i get carried away by how 'good' my chart look until, suddenly, it does not. but everyone's mileage will vary.
    History
I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.
Began TTC in Aug '18 @ age 35
5 or 6 (or 7?!) cycles using frozen donor sperm, ICI. All BFN
    Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan,I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.30), FSH high albeit not catastrophic at 13.2. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.
Feb '21, injectables (menopur, novarel), iui, BFN (doc said the frozen donor sperm sample had the "best numbers she'd ever seen!")
Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles, converted to at home-insem. BFN
May '21, first IVF round cancelled due to cyst.
July '21 IVF: standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 7; 6 days of stims. 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast. 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. PGT-A results all abnormal.
Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow.
    Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal.
Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen.
Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized.
From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos!
Jan 20, Fully medicated FET, baby aspirin, dexamethasone, acupuncture, and as much woo as I can stand (which isn't very much). BFN.
July 23, Natural FET + baby aspirin. BFN.
  • @hestia-is-wearie I'm sorry for the limbo. I feel like you're 'normal' until you're not. Spotting for a few days before a period for me is very normal for me.
@iiirene I love a good TWW distraction! I have one coming up for this weekend also. Out of town until Tuesday, which is when I will take a test.
    Month/Cycle: 18/7 AL

    CD/DPO: 21/4

    Timing: -3,-2,-1,O

Typical LP length: long enough with progesterone

    Testing: Next Tuesday

R/R: We're planning on getting kittens soon! We went to an adoption party last weekend to just check things out. I've submitted an application for 2 kittens. After our trip to Oregon this weekend, we'll be hopefully getting kitties the following! I'm so excited to start adding to this family after 4 years of straight losses.

    CS/Q: nope

  • @bearmomma1 Kitties! <3 How exciting! Adopting kittens in pairs is always a great idea because they'll have each other for company. And the humans can watch kitten wrestling matches!  :D
  • @bearmomma1 yay kitties! I am 100% way more of a cat person than a dog person. They’re just so much easier and we have the most loving cats. I saw an adorable video today of a cat chasing after toilet paper hanging from a ceiling fan.

@optimistgardener I am the same way, my temps stay high until the day after my period starts. So the elevated temp thing doesn’t mean too much to me.

@hestia-is-wearie Yes, FRER's have terrible indents now. It's such a bummer. The last few times I have been able to see the line even before peeing all over them. (I apologize for the visual :D)
    TTC History
    Me: 38 DH: 52

  • @iiirene I'm team cat too! I've always had a connection with them.  <3

@elle-0409 Good to know. I'm going to switch brands for the remainder of this TWW.
  • *lurking*

@hestia-is-wearie I use wondfo cheapies along with any other pt I use, they have a tendency to really give me a more accurate result.
  • bearmomma1 just be careful. For when you do become pregnant, you won’t be allowed to pick up the cat poop as it can be toxic to you while pregnant. I don’t recall the details but you can search it online.
