Covid Positive and Pregnant

Hello! Anyone else out there pregnant with Covid? Or know if anyone who had Covid in their first trimester? I tested positive on Thursday and found out I was 5 weeks pregnant yesterday. I am vaccinated and boosted and everyone says the Omicron BA2 is supposed to be more mild, but it is wiping me out! I had all the symptoms except loss of smell and while I do feel like I’m gradually getting better, I’m easily exhausted and out of breath. Now I’m nauseous on top of that. And trying to keep up with my 2 year old is impossible.
Stay safe everyone!

Re: Covid Positive and Pregnant

  • I don't personally know anyone that's had covid in the first trimester, but I wanted to send you lots of feel better energy. I had covid in July 2020 and it wiped me out completely for a month... I didn't have the energy to make a quesadilla for my kids without needing a nap after. I imagine combining it with early pregnancy fatigue is really rough. Hope you feel better soon!

  • My cousin was early in her first trimester when she got COVID back in December. She’s doing well and so is the baby. No complications.
  • Thank you both! That’s reassuring.
  • I tested positive for COVID the same day I got my positive pregnancy test! I spoke with my doctor this week, who said that best practice right now only has patients followed more closely if they get COVID 24 weeks and beyond. I am still feeling wiped and but unclear if that’s pregnancy now or lingering COVID symptoms.
  • I am in the same boat, I tested positive for COVID the week before finding out I was 4 weeks pregnant (on April 1). I’ve had similar side effects of feeling exhausted and out of breath in addition to my sinuses going completely wild. I tested negative for COVID today (it lasted 1-week) so I’m hoping to get my energy back before the nausea sets in!
  • Unfortunately, I tested positive when in December on Christmas Eve, when I was 9 + 4. Miscarried at 9+6 after a 103° fever hit hard. Prayers for anyone who tests positive!
  • I’m only 5 weeks 5 days and I tested positive for Covid. My pregnancy symptoms (fatigue, breast tenderness, nausea) had already been fluctuating over the past week. Any loss of symptoms freaks me out since I had a MMC before my son. Anyway, I’m on day 2 after testing positive for Covid and I don’t feel any pregnancy symptoms at all. All I feel is miserably sick (fever, chills, coughing, no appetite). And I can’t stop worrying about my little bean. ☹️ Thanks for starting this thread. Seeing the positive posts helps a little. ❤️

Tested positive for Covid today, 10w3d. No fever but terrible headache and fatigue. I’m fully vaxed/boosted so I’m really hoping it passes quickly. My ob office didn’t seem concerned at all so trying to just rest for now. Of course I’ve avoided it this whole time and get it while pregnant 😑.
  • I tested positive for Covid today, I'm 7w4d. I've had strong pregnancy symptoms up until yesterday when the Covid symptoms started. I'm trying not to worry as I am fully vaccinated but losing the pregnancy symptoms is scary for me seeing as I had a miscarriage in November. I really hope little bean is okay.
  • I had Covid when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I had a fever for less than a day and was sick for a few. I didn’t feel as many pregnancy symptoms when I was sick but once I felt better they came back; I think Covid just masked the pregnancy symptoms, especially since I wasn’t up for eating much when sick with Covid. That said, the baby made it through seemingly unscathed and my dr mentioned many patients of his have had Covid pregnant without complications.

@audreyrva I was kinda was in a similar situation. Had a 24 hour cold where fever got to 100.5. I was able to keep it down with Tylenol pretty quickly. Was your doctor worried about your fever? I'm still worried at this point. Just praying 20 week scan is all good.

I had it at like 13 weeks and my doctor recommended that I take a 81mg baby asprin for the remainder of my pregnancy saying some women have had blood clots in the placenta after getting covid while pregnant so I would talk to your doctor about it. She said it was a new recommendation but that it was safe and preventative for any complications or preterm labor with covid. Hope this helps 🙏
  • I had Covid at 14wks and my doctor recommended the 81mg Apsirin as well until 36wks
