With my first pregnancy, we took some classes offered through our hospital and another neighboring hospital. We took a breastfeeding class, a baby care basics class, and a prepared childbirth class. I think they were worthwhile. Mostly, they reinforce what "What to Expect" says, but it's good to get a refresher. Also, I think it was helpful for my husband, especially, since he's not as big on reading "What to Expect." I think the classes showed him what he could do to be involved, even with breastfeeding (emotional support is key in the beginning).
