  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 4

    WTO/TWW? O should be today

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? Feeling really positive and optimistic. We had some solid timing.

Any questions? I think I need a new BBT thermometer. I don’t trust the one I’ve got. Anyone have one they love?

Rant/Rave?it’s my last week of work before taking two weeks off. We’re going to start potty training this weekend so wish me luck!

GTKY: What baby items of theirs do you plan to keep for posterity's sake? His favorite paci, some hand crochet baby hats, his stuffed bunny, a few hand made quilts, some onesies-especially the one my coteacher got me that says “Made in Bermuda” 😆

  • @iiirene yay for solid timing!

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 4/2AL

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? six in a few weeks

Any thoughts about this cycle?  Just hope its back on track.

    Any questions? Nope.

Rant/Rave?  Work is awful.  That is all.

GTKY: What baby items of theirs do you plan to keep for posterity's sake?  My son is almost 6 and I have kept almost everything.  We were on the one and done train for awhile but I was always afraid to get rid of anything.  If we get pregnant again there is very little we will need.

  • @iiirene hooray for great timing and O!

@ReadyForaB let’s keep our fingers crossed that you are back on track!

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 7/3 AL

    WTO/TWW? WTO… CD1

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? I just am feeling beat down. I got DS 6 months after trying, 3months after my MC. My cycle last cycle was finally back to normal from before DS, so I was confident between that and timing. CD1 sucks.

    Any questions?  NATM

Rant/Rave? Just having a day. Found out there was some girl drama in my group over the weekend, so had to approach that at band camp today. Also, my senior from last year came to help out and she’s 15 weeks pregnant… I burst into tears seeing her baby bump. Oh, day 1… 😔😔😔

GTKY: What baby items of theirs do you plan to keep for posterity's sake? My mom made a shadow box of a few things from his newborn days, but other than that I have saved pretty much everything in hopes of a baby 2. We were team green with DS, so a lot of our newborn stuff and baby stuff is gender neutral.
  • @iiirene Yay for feeling optimistic about this cycle! Fingers crossed for you. <3 Good luck with potty training! We need to get started on that over here. Are you using any particular method?
@ReadyForaB Sorry that your work is awful. Is it always like this?
@ejoseph16 Ugh. I'm so sorry for CD1 plus seeing the pregnant former student. Hugs, hugs, hugs.

What number are you trying for? 2
    Month/Cycle? Benched
    WTO/TWW? It doesn't matter *cue dramatic/helpful crying*
    Ages of other child(ren)? 2
Any thoughts about this cycle? I'm actually doing fine. I would rather wait a few months and get some answers than rush into trying to get pregnant and have a third loss. Not that it couldn't happen again even after treatment, but I'm hoping it will be less likely.
    Any questions? Nope
Rant/Rave? I started YouTube and Instagram channels about my miscarriages and trying to get pregnant again. It's been such a great source of therapy!
GTKY: What baby items of theirs do you plan to keep for posterity's sake? I got her a rocking lamb from Pottery Barn Kids with her name engraved on it, so I'll be holding onto that. Otherwise, maybe a few newborn/infant outfits. Because my mom is a bit of a hoarder, I tend to want to let things go because I hate clutter.

  • @elle-0409 No. We have a tax appeal deadline for most counties in Pennsylvania of August 1st and I’m the only one who handles them at my firm. And we do a lot. On top of all of my normal work. It always gets a little nuts this time of year.

Also, ***TW*** I’m just getting over my second miscarriage too. I was told no testing until 3. 😩 I’m glad your finding some comfort in sharing your story!

  • @ReadyForaB Oh, man. That sounds rough. Sorry that it's all landing on you, but at least it's not a year-round situation!

TW: In 2013, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) defined recurrent miscarriage as "... defined by two or more failed pregnancies." I don't know why some providers still go by the "traditional" definition of recurrent pregnancy loss being three or more. It's frustrating and I'm so sorry for your losses and that you can't get in for testing.

  • @ejoseph16 Are you a marching band director? That's super cool if you are! :star: But I can totally sympathize with the girl drama eating away at things. My HS band had some nasty rifts back in the day.

@elle-0409 My MIL is a hoarder and my mom is very quick to get rid of things that have no use to her. (Even if I ask to keep a small toy for DD at her house, it turns into an argument because "it's just going to sit there." :unamused: ) I try to strike a balance between those two but I always end up acting more like my mom.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Timing was better this time!

    Any questions? nope

Rant/Rave? My hair has been weirdly frizzy all summer, and yesterday I went to get my highlights touched up last night and the dye wouldn't take. :/ I get that hair changes every several years, but it's really annoying and I don't know how to manage it now.

GTKY: What baby items of theirs do you plan to keep for posterity's sake? I will probably keep a few of her favorite books. When she was a baby she absolutely loved "I Love You Through and Through." A couple months ago I read it for the first time in a while and she got this nostalgic look on her face!  <3 My coworker also made her a cross-stitched bib with our last name on it, but I never used it because I didn't want it to get ruined. (I'm pretty sure getting baby food out of embroidery floss is a nightmare.) But I want to keep it because it's such a nice gift and it's personalized.
  • @hestia-is-wearie I coach the color guard at our school. I’m rebuilding the program, so that’s what is killing me. We are trying to make a positive reputation and this happens 🙄 I went from 2 batons and 2 flags last year to 1 baton and 6 flags this year.
  • @ejoseph16 I always wanted to try color guard but it would have been impossible for me to be in two places on the field at once :p I'm sure having a lot of newbies makes things difficult, but that's great growth over just one year!

WTO/TWW? good question, trying to figure that out

Any thoughts about this cycle? Hello, I'm back on here after a few months of two back to back chemical pregnancies. Gonna try to NOT get pregnant this cycle to get a break from *waves hands at last few months*. But hoping to probably try again the next cycle.
    Any questions? Not this time.
Rant/Rave? I got a negative pregnancy test which means my hCG has all washed away from my last chemical pregnancy which I would like to rave about because it means I can move towards a successful pregnancy? Feels weird to be happy about a negative but I celebrated by using an expensive First Response to be sure.
GTKY: What baby items of theirs do you plan to keep for posterity's sake? I (ahem I mean the pacifier fairy) recently took pacifiers off the wubbanubs, and even though my 3 year old doesn't seem too interested in the little animals anymore, I'm probably gonna keep them forever.

@iiirene I use an Easy@Home branded basal body thermometer. It may be fancier than it needed to be. BUT it does save a few temps, has a back light so you don't have to turn on an overhead light to know what's going on.
Also good luck on potty training! We just did that mid-June (are still doing it, by some definitions).
  • @krb99 I like the idea of the back light!

@ReadyForaB solidarity on work being terrible. Hope it gets better for you.

@elle-0409 I’ve listened to the Oh Crap potty training book a few times so we’re going to give that a shot.
  • lurking, sorry i never manage to post in all the places but @iiirene we did oh crap back in march with great success. and by great success i mean we def still had accidents, but i really like the process. there's a fb group for it, too. it's a little less rigid than the author's style  Oh Crap! Potty Training Unofficial Book Club | Groups | Facebook
  • @iiirene I did the Oh Crap method right after DD turned 2 and we had to "reset" because it turned out she was not ready to potty train: even though she showed interest, she got "stage fright," as I put it. The book says that if you reset, reintroduce the potty after a maximum of four weeks without it, but we ended up reintroducing it after four months. That time, it clicked right away! It was a combination of her being ready and drawing on what she was exposed to four months before. By the end of the first week, she rarely had accidents, but she didn't self-prompt for about a month.
So my advice is, it's a great method, but you don't have to follow it to the absolute letter. You've got time and every kid is different!  <3
  • @hestia-is-wearie I’m to a point in parenting now that I don’t feel the need to follow every method for things religiously. It hasn’t always been that way and when I was too rigid it caused me a lot of anxiety. It took a long while for me to let go of that perfectionism though

I'm going to go by the Big Little Feelings approach, but I've heard that it's just a gentler version of Oh, Crap! I really like their philosophy, so my husband and I just need to pick a date and commit.

@hestia-is-wearie Okay, books are my downfall. I can't imagine getting rid of any of her books, lol. And now that you mention it, DD also has a few nice bibs. Hmmm... maybe I'm going to end up keeping a lot more than I thought. Oops!
@ejoseph16 Both of my sisters were in color guard in high school, and one of them did it in college and then went on to coach. It was always so fun traveling to Daytona to watch them compete! They never had batons. Just flags, rifles, and sabres. My husband likes to call it "Dancing with weapons."  😂

ETA: My sisters did both color guard and winter guard.

  • @elle-0409 I didn’t know Big Little Feelings had a potty training approach. I’ll have to check it out.

@hestia-is-wearie books are also a big one for me. My mom kept so many of the books from when I was a child and I have a fe of them for my son now. One of my favorites is Made For Me. I heard it first when I was pregnant and it made me cry. I always buy it to new parents now.

I gave so much stuff to my brother to borrow for  my niece. He figured we can just pass it back and forth as we have new babies haha.
  • @elle-0409 I did winter guard also!!!! I was in a class world finals in Dayton in 2006 😊 it obviously has become a passion of mine… I can’t seem to get away from it! Lol our district was looking for a coach, and the band director came to me because he heard I had experience.
