Quitting smoking

Yes yes I know, it's bad. I need help and support, no judgement please. Quitting with my other 2 pregnancies were not hard and why I ever started again (stress!) I don't know but I am literally having the worst time during this 3rd pregnancy, help!?! Any tips from other mommas who've had this issue?

Re: Quitting smoking

  • Such a hard topic. I am in the same boat except for I vape and not smoke actual cigarettes (like it’s any better!) have you found anything helpful for you yet? I just found out I am expecting about 4 days ago. Let’s help support each other!

  • Honestly, not yet. I'm currently trying to just cut out 1 at a time starting with the evening ones. I currently have 2 kiddos and works from home full time so stress is at an all time high. Setting timers seems to help a bit, making sure I have to space them out. I also make sure I don't have more available than what I'm allowing myself for the day. So strange to me that I can give up drinking no problem but those damn nicotine breaks are so hard to cut out!
  • I vaped a lot. I basically had to tell myself that it’s not worth it, and I think I’m super extra moody without the nicotine but I snack on stuff more to give myself something to do. Won’t work for everyone but it’s what I did. This is my first so I’m probably even more spazzed about something happening. I still want to vape I just eat candy instead 😂

Former smoker (quit long before getting pregnant the first time) so I don’t have any advice for right now. Just wanted to stop in and say, it’s really hard & I’m really proud of y’all  for trying!

Check with your OB to see if they have any resources for quitting, they probably see this more than you think ❤️
  • I also vaped and stopped cold turkey as soon as I got my BFP. It’s been so hard. My boyfriend still vapes and sometimes I just wanna snatch it out of his hand 😩 lol. I definitely think it’s adding to my moodiness too. It was always my stress reliever!

I am trying hypnosis - hoping it works
  • I smoked hookah every evening while I played games on my phone. However, I found out I was 4 weeks long and since I’ve been trying for a miracle the last 8 years, I had to do whatever it takes to cut out ANYTHING that could harm it. It’s right in front of me, and I don’t even think about it. So it really boils down to: which desire is more important for you? A healthy child, or something that hurts you both and can cause lots of complications. I know, it’s not easy, but we all have to try. We all got it in us, good luck, mama!
