Re: Weekly Randoms - July 5th

  • Is anyone planning a family vacation/babymoon this fall? I really want to go somewhere, but need it to be fun for two 4-year olds and low-key enough for me. Would love some suggestions.

  • @LaceyBee522 We had originally thought about a quick trip this fall for my kids’ fall break since they have no spring break, but with the cost of gas and how much more that made our summer vacation cost, I think we are out, ha.

  • @LaceyBee522 We're doing big holidays this summer so no big mission planned for fall. However, my SO and I will do a long weekend babymoon somewhere on a weekend this fall when my kids are at their dads. Since I live in the UK it'll be somewhere in Europe though so I'm not much help in recommending a location.  :D  I'm not sure where you live but maybe a trip to NE to see the fall colors? That could be fun for the twins but also on the chill side as vacations go.
  • Confession - I already bought some maternity active leggings from old navy (work from home life, lol), because I just couldn’t take the waistband of my leggings cutting into my stomach right now with all of the bloating and my rib cage already expanding and all that - SO much better. So much better. I always switched to maternity jeans and dress pants pretty early on when I had to physically go to work with my other three, but I thought wearing leggings would make it fine to wait longer to switch, but it is SO worth it. Now I just need to find some sports bras that fit right right now!

  • @LaceyBee522 DH and I were going to do an all inclusive this fall for our 5 year wedding anniversary, but I think that is out now, so maybe we might do a little weekend thing somewhere.

  • @emy162 ugh, I forgot Zika still exists!! We went to Key West last pregnancy, though, so maybe that's a good tradition to keep!!!

  • @emy162 were also thinking about San Diego in the fall, maybe October. Husband’s work is paying for a trip this year instead of a bonus and that’s one of the destinations on the list we can choose from. We are thinking about bringing the kids though, so not exactly a baby moon 😂

@runningyogimama I’m not far behind you. Third baby bloat is no joke
  • I don't know that this is technically a symptom, so I'm posting here. I remember this happening during my previous pregnancy too  - I've suddenly stopped being able to watch "conflict" in TV and movies. For example, I usually loooove Bravo anything. I was watching the new Ultimate Girls Trip, but I just can't stomach the yelling at each other and uncomfortable tension. I turned on reruns of Below Deck Med while eating lunch today and have seen these eps before, so I know the fights that are about to happen and I had to turn it off. It is a weird psychological thing connected to me being pregnant bc I'm not typically empathetic enough for this to effect me.

Has anyone else noticed a weird change in preferences like that?

  • @LaceyBee522 the moment I became pregnant with my first, I got easily stressed out by any bad news more so and it seemed to be an ongoing, reoccurring issue with me that tied into being pregnant or having a very young child. I am definitely more sensitive once again to bad news and probably violence and dark movies. I think it's our protective nature that gets kicked up a notch with hormonal changes.
  • @seeds_of_joy Yes, me, too! My anxiety and stress levels (which already run pretty high) seem to kick up and stay up with pregnancy and baby/young kids. Worry about pretty much everything seems to skyrocket. Blech
  • Another one- anyone noticing dogs are being extra sweet and friendly to them? My dog and pretty much everybody else’s dogs seem to be in love with me lately, lol. I love them, too, so it’s fine with me- very calming!!

@cpk3535 funny you mention dogs. Lol I was walking past a dog neighbor today. He's a huge but well trained dog who usually pays me no mind. But he  stood up and put one paw on my butt like he was giving me a weird kind of hug. My own dog has been sitting on me a lot.

Hmmm, I seem to be watching even more violent shows - I think it calms my general boredom and grumpiness about the hyperemesis gravidarum (I likely spelled it wrong but whatever lol) and hospital visits for dehydration, or something.  I just feel stuck between the couch, toilet, bed, and hospital. I'm catching up on Season 3 of The Boys and it is so good!!!

I don't have dogs, but my cats are about the same as usual - hot and cold 😆

So grateful that I can still eat chocolate! 🍫😋
  • @seeds_of_joy I love the blanket!

This weekend has been the absolute worst. Our a/c is out and it was over 100 degrees both days. I’ve been so miserable. And my dh is so grumpy.  I have been trying to drink as much water as I can but it makes me so nauseous 😞
