First ultrasound

Hey mamas! So my LMP was June 25th and I went in for an ultrasound today to verify viability but they couldn’t see anything! They said it’s possible I’m just too early and to come back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound… I’m just really nervous and freaking out! Has anyone else experienced this and went on to have a healthy pregnancy!?

Re: First ultrasound

  • You probably are about to ovulate if you had your lmp on June 25th

  • Sorry I’m not super good with all the lingo! I had my period May 25th but then was supposed to get my period June 25th but didn’t get it! So I took a test and it’s positive. So I went to a womens clinic today and had another positive pregnancy test. They did an ultrasound but couldn’t see anything.
  • So you're about 6+1 weeks then? Might be early.

  • Did they do an external or internal ultrasound? And was it a doctor's office or a private boutique?
It can be harder to see in the uterus with an external ultrasound, especially that early. The waiting game sucks but hopefully your next ultrasound will show a little healthy bean 🤞🏻

  • They did an external and internal. It was at a nonprofit womens center..
  • It’s probably too early to show on an ultrasound. Most OBGYN clinics won’t start them until 8-12 weeks. (Mine won’t be until 10 weeks) I would wait a couple weeks or schedule one with your OB office.
  • Definitely don't get concerned yet. My ob office won't schedule ultrasounds til 8 weeks or later. I think it's likely just too early.
  • It's too early! Could they not even see a gestational sac and yolk sac in the uterus?
  • They could see a gestational sac and that was it!
