Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: I really hope pink. I had a dream that the US tech said, "It's a big, fat girl!" This is probably my last chance to give my daughter a sister that doesn't have fur.

Upcoming Appointments: none. I have no clue what I'm going to do this time.

How are you feeling?: nauseous, weak, a bit cranky

Rants/Raves: I'm really happy to have made it farther along than my 3 chemicals and to be feeling symptoms which I didn't with my miscarriage.

Questions: anyone else not sure if they are going to do a hospital birth, home birth, birthing center?

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I like them as long as they aren't in my kids' faces.

How are you feeling?: Constantly nauseous but no actual puking yet, exhausted and irritable

Rants/Raves: I decided on the job I'm accepting after we move in September, which is a relief, but now I have to break it to all the others that I didn't chose them and I'm dreading it.

Questions: none atm

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I love firework shows, but I get pretty annoyed when folks continue to light off the big noisy ones in residential neighborhoods after 10pm...

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday is my ultrasound and 1st appointment.

How are you feeling?: anxious. So anxious. I don’t have any reason to worry but I just keep preparing myself for the worst. Also the nausea is so bad. I usually wake up around 4 every morning and spend my wake up time dry heaving.

Rants/Raves: I had a lovely weekend with my family. And despite my extrovert husbands plans to have people come over it was just us and I really liked it.

Questions: not at the moment.

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I love fireworks and can’t wait until our kids are old enough to appreciate it. We’ve only taken them once last year and they enjoyed it but it just disrupted the sleep schedule so much and I don’t think it’s worth it at this age.

How are you feeling?: nauseous, tired, and my head constantly hurts

Rants/Raves: summer camps should have school buses that pick the kids up from home lol

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I like the large community fireworks meant for everybody. The ones my neighbors shoot off have always frightened me (health/fire hazard).

Upcoming Appointments: NT scan 7/28

How are you feeling?: I feel like my nausea and exhaustion has gone back to being in waves instead of 24/7 over the last few days, so here’s to hoping I’m about to the end of the nauseas stage. Being my fourth - my stomach is huge already and my rib cage is already expanding, which seems so crazy!

Rants/Raves: I’m just really tired from fireworks last night, lol. I like to be in bed by 9-9:30 normally, which is obviously before sunset even. 😴

Questions:

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I HATED them living in the suburbs with them going off 24/7 for weeks at a time this time of year - I don’t hate it so much out here in the country since we can’t see or hear them, but I just really don’t care either way. I enjoy big firework shows (or did as a kid), but we haven’t gotten to the age where we want to take the kids out THAT far past bedtime to see one yet (and imagine it’ll be several years still…). Overall, they’re just meh to me. The smoke bothers my allergies and eyes, and they’re loud. I could never see a fireworks show again or spend money to light money on fire (how it feels to me when my husband buys fireworks 😅), and I’d be perfectly fine with it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@runningyogimama it is so crazy that we are due in the same month, but it seems like you are so far ahead of me with your NT already scheduled.

@Rgriffin91 I'm with you on the headaches. It is awful. Also, I actually worked at a summer camp when I was in college that bused the kids to and from camp (to a central location in the city). But we were like two hours from the city - so maybe that's why?

@angbaby83 so exciting that your US is this week!! Hopefully that will help alleviate some of your anxiety. FX!

@jennykatedvm FX everything goes great at your US this week! Congrats on choosing the job. I totally get dreading letting the others know. I hate giving what I know will be perceived as bad news. I hope it is as painless as possible.

@seeds_of_joy FX for pink! Will you find out? Or wait until he/she is born?

FTM/STM/TTM+: STM, but will be third baby (first pregnancy was twins).

Upcoming Appointments: US on 7/15. Hopefully my final at my fertility specialist, then will move over to my regular OB.

How are you feeling?: Really crappy the last couple of weeks. My lower back pain has subsided, thank goodness. But generally a constant feeling of nausea and very tired.

Rants/Raves: Rave: We had a great holiday weekend with the kids. They were actually excited about fireworks this year, so we went out and bought some fun daytime options. Rant: Why oh why do they have to shoot fireworks until 1:00 AM? That's too much.

Questions: Does anyone have a good resource for appointments/expected scans? I cannot remember what was standard and what was specifically required of my twin pregnancy last time. And I want to make sure I'm not missing anything bc I'm in a rural hospital this time around.

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I've always liked fireworks. I grew up in the country, so learned how to set them off myself pretty young. The town where I grew up (and where we live now) has a huge July 4th celebration and even when I lived in NYC, my friends and I would come back for the 4th.

Upcoming Appointments: Had my first u/s today! Saw the HB and baby is measuring at 7w0d which is right in line with my LMP (I ovulated early so thought I might be a few days further along). MW apt in two weeks.

How are you feeling?: I need a nap at 2:30 every afternoon but otherwise I'm okay.

Rants/Raves: I feel like I've known I'm pregnant for approximately forever and I'm still only halfway through first tri. I am so ready for second tri!

Questions: natm

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I enjoy them but it's a Guy Fawkes' thing here in the UK so we have them in November. It's nice bc it's dark early so kids can go without having to stay up late.

@seeds_of_joy I will be having baby in a birth centre at the hospital if all goes well. That is what I did with my daughter and I loved it.

@LaceyBee522 My first was an end of the month due date, so I remember feeling so much further behind than everyone else in the group with her, even though it’s only a difference of weeks! I’m not sure how I ended up with first week of the month due dates with the next 3. 😅

How are you feeling?: waves of worsening nausea and fatigue. I felt the worse yesterday and was not up for celebrating Independence Day.

Rants/Raves:

Still thankful and grateful to be pregnant. I’m excited to finally start this next chapter in my life. Most of my friends who want kids already have kids. I’m looking to find new friends who are going through the first time mom journey with me.

Questions: How did you find and choose your ob/gyn? I’m searching for the right fit. Right now I’m being followed by my fertility doc who I love.

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I love fireworks (self proclaimed pyro here! ✋) and enjoyed the few I saw during my evening walk.

How are you feeling?: definitely feeling pregnant. Tired, queasy, food aversions. Shaky hands too this time, so that’s a new/weird one for me. Feeling some anxiety. I’ve got a large SCH that has me feeling a little apprehensive, but doing my best to take it easy.

Rants/Raves: I really wish my appetite would cooperate with me and allow me to eat all the things that look so delicious!

@ttc3y I honestly just looked through local FB groups for recommendations and searched online reviews, and luckily came up with an OB I absolutely adore that way!

@LaceyBee522 I do have a ob/gyn but I wasn’t happy with the last few interactions I had with her. She lacked sensitivity and treated me with arrogance. I need a provider who I can collaborate with and not dismiss me.

@runningyogimama I will definitely consider those options in my search.

How are you feeling?: Like rubbish! I have friends who love and enjoy being pregnant...I am not one of those women!

Rants: My last name (maiden...I kept it) contains the word "cow" and apparently the universe thinks it's a funny. My boobs have already gone up a full size and are leaking, and I am not here for it! (I had a terrible oversupply with DS as well). While I am sure I will appreciate them when it comes down to breastfeeding, I do not like the universe's sense of humor making the "cow" girl have a ridiculous chest!

Questions: not at this time

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I think they are really pretty from afar, but I really hate when they are going off where I can hear them. (I have PTSD and the noise is a huge trigger.)

Upcoming Appointments: I have my nurse intake appt tomorrow and should hopefully be scheduling some from that

How are you feeling?: like crap. Bloated, huge, nauseous, sore boobs, exhausted. All good things though I suppose.

Rants/Raves: I am dying to take down my pregnancy pillow but I know DH hates it so I am trying to hold out as long as possible. I currently have a pillow between my legs at night, but tossing and turning isn't easy with having to move said pillow.

Questions: NATM

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I love them. We could hear a ton from our house, but couldn't see any which was disappointing. DS is still too young to keep up that late to see them, so we haven't seen any in a few years which is a bummer.

@tessiesmom26 I've been debating getting my pillow out, as well. I'm making due with the regular pillow between my legs, but I know the long/body pillow will be so much comfier.

@lolly-pop I'm sorry about the fireworks and your PTSD. That must be really awful. And, on a lighter note, now I really want to know your last name! <---not being creepy, I swear!!

Upcoming Appointments: first appointment July 25- still 2.5 weeks away

How are you feeling?: exhausted, anxious, sore boobs, bloated, and somehow both hungry and nauseous. No actual throwing up yet.

Rants/Raves: I’m torn between wanting symptoms to go away, and being terrified if I’m not feeling a symptom that something is wrong! I keep poking my boobs to make sure they’re still sore 🤣

Questions:
Has anybody done one of the early at home gender blood tests? I’m anxious to find out but it seems like they may not be reliable/worth it.

When do you shop for maternity clothes? Any recommendations of where you found your faves?

I used to LOVE fireworks, but now with a hubby with pretty bad PTSD, the 4th is a less fun holiday when it gets dark 😢

This must be a rough time of the year for him. But glad you're feeling better already. That gives me hope. I think I remember with my previous pregnancies being pretty free from morning sickness by 11 weeks in most of them.

@helloimellen My older sister did the SneakPeak test last year, to find out the gender of my 4 month old niece, so I decided to give it a go too. I'm a very impatient person, and waiting to find out the gender on the military's time table is too much! 😂 (Here, we only get an anatomy scan at 20 weeks, and because I'm overseas, I can't go pay out of pocket for an elective 3D ultrasound to learn earlier 🙈).

@LaceyBee522 it's Cowell, like Simon Cowell...got a fair amount of teasing for that growing up...

@ladykaty91 I empathize for your husband. I have cPTSD, and while it's not too bad here (Japan is really strict and diligent on stopping illegal fireworks), when we lived in Hawaii, it was awful. People shot off illegal fireworks in our neighborhood almost every weekend...it was not my favorite.

@tessiesmom26 I've thought about stealing my sister's U pregnancy pillow when we visit the states next month, but I'm not sure I could make it fit in my bags...or that my husband would be thrilled to share a bed with it for the next 6 months.

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow! Meeting my OB for the first time

How are you feeling?: constantly tired, no amount of sleep satisfies and it’s really hard to get going. Nauseous most of the morning but if I can eat right away and often I feel pretty good

Rants/Raves: we had some reasons to be concerned- cramping/bleeding, hcg increasing but not doubling etc but I had an ultrasound that showed baby’s growth is right on track and had a strong heart beat

Questions:

GTKY: Do you enjoy fireworks 🎆🎇 or just wish the noise would stop? I like them- I saw a show on the third and the fourth that were both 20 min long. A little too long for me but definitely enjoyed

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: totally finding out! Hoping for girl 3, but I’ll be fine with either. Just a little scared that I won’t be as skilled with a boy 😳

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling pretty good. A bit on and off sick still, exhausted, but I can’t always tell if that’s just normal life or pregnancy, lol! Had an epilepsy flare up on the 4th of July, which sucked, but I’m recouping and feeling better. Had a good job interview this morning that I’m hopeful about, too!

Rants/Raves: How annoying is this first trimester when lots of people can’t tell you’re pregnant and even those you’ve told seem to semi-forget? It’s tough when you’re feeling some of your worst symptoms and nobody would ever know, lol.

Questions: Nothing at the moment!

I love fireworks…to some degree. But I’ve also seen way more super pro fireworks shows thanks to years of Disney passes than your average human being, so the city and fairgrounds stuff isn't super important to me. I hate the bad traffic that usually accompanies trying to get to and from fireworks in town, too. Super annoying!

@cpk3535 I think I’m in a similar boat and secretly hoping for boy #3. It’s just what I already know! Lol. A girl would be really great though, I always pictured myself having a daughter but I truly don’t care what we have!

Upcoming appointments: ultrasound this Thursday the 14th!

How are you feeling?: fewer symptoms than week 5. The sore boobs are gone. I guess the fatigue is still here? But I’m still having RLP so that’s got to be a good sign.

Rants/Raves: unrelated to pregnancy…my husband took my 6 yo camping with his cub scouts pack this weekend and let his phone die. My 4 yo is sick and had a really high fever at times. She’s ok now but I’m pissed that he would allow himself to be unreachable when one of his kids is so sick! This is the difference between moms and dads 🤬

Questions:
I know the NIPT test is at 10 weeks, but I won’t be due for another appt until 12 weeks. Does anyone remember if they went in separately for the blood draw or just got it at 12? Don’t make me wait another 2 weeks! 😂

@Puddlewonderful Mine is just at my 12 week appointment. I believe it’s just after 10 weeks, not necessarily at 10 weeks.
