Maternity clothes

Hey all! Looking for any resources on where you taller ladies have found long enough maternity pants…I’m a 35” inseam and need professional work wear. At this point probably need to bust out the sewing machine but wanted to check!

Re: Maternity clothes

  • @knottieac8bd197be0e63c0 please don't start one off posts, as it disrupts the organization of the board. A topic like this would fit well in our randoms thread at this point. I think it might make sense to have a monthly thread on this, if you want later in our pregnancies, but it is still very early to need maternity clothes. Please also update your username and intro on the Introductions thread, so we can get to know you. Thanks!

  • Regardless of what other people think about it “being too early”, I’ve already purchased some maternity jeans and shorts. Yeah I’m only 8 weeks along but the amount of bloating I have is making my regular jeans and shorts a pain in the ass. Thankfully my work is rather casual so I don’t have to worry about appropriate work attire. I purchased my jeans from target because they were cheap but Old Navy has a ton of options, and they always have “tall” sizes for the taller ladies!

I found some cute dresses that are stretchy material and can be dressed up/ down at express! I bought a few different styles. I also bought my first pair of align lululemon leggings (lots of hype from pregnant “influencers”). I thought I could pair them with an oversized button down and belt for a biz-casual look. I’m only 8 weeks but I’m starting to feel bloated already and wanted to buy clothes that can “grow with me”.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to buy my first ever pair of lululemons 😍 hahaha.

@kayruhrenae RIGHT!! haha… I thought the same thing! They’re expensive but they are just as buttery soft and stretchy as they say!

Definitely try them on if there is a store near you. My normal size is 8-10 (medium in leggings), I’m 5’2, 155ish and wear a size 6 in lululemon. I ordered 3 sizes because I thought I did my measurements right and they would be cut small…. Not mad about it but I did have to keep reordering 😅
  • Have you ladies sized up in lulus? I’m debating ordering another pair in the next size up to have on deck for when my current no longer fit. They have tons of stretch though so maybe I won’t need to??
  • @rblack7 Reviews I've read are kind of 50/50 on sizing up vs. sticking with your normal size. I didn't size up but this is my first pregnancy so I have no clue how big I'll actually get. LOL.

  • I’m 5’10 and I believe Old Navy has Long maternity sizes. Or at least they did 5 years ago!
  • I bought maternity jeans today 🥲 I’m already tired of trying to squeeze my bloat into my high-waisted jeans, so found some “under the belly” maternity jeans at Target. I have a feeling I’m going to have such a hard time with body image this time around. Ready to have a legit bump so I feel pregnant and not just big.
