  Please do not use one! My doctor office said its one of the top reasons women call the office, because they "can't find the heartbeat."  Do you know the long term affects of using one (as you said) daily? NOPE because it would be considered an unethical study.

  I used one my first pregnancy.  I checked every once in a while for a short time.  There’s plenty of videos on YouTube that give you tips on finding the baby’s heartbeat. You just need to go into it knowing that it might not happen and that your doppler is more for fun.  For me, I found my previous baby’s heartbeat easily (with tips) at 13 weeks. So much peace of mind and really cool for my family.  

  
  

  You can be empowered and informed about your own pregnancy and body.  IMO doctors and studies both say a lot of things As blanket statements with no regard to the education level and beliefs of the mother.  Dopplers are not unsafe.  Doctors use them at every checkup.  Is anything in abundance unsafe- yeah, probably.   Use your judgement about it, and take the time to inform yourself on the pros and cons about the choices you want to make for you and your baby and then you’re golden.

  I bought one. I’m a l&d nurse so I know how to interpret the sounds. I’m 9+1 today, haven’t been able to pick anything up yet which I’m not worried about but it bummed me out, especially since I have no pregnancy symptoms.

  I didn't have one in my 1st pregnancy, but I bought one this time around. My mom is a retired certified midwife. She watches my son every Weds. I left it at her house and figure she can check for me when I want the reassurance. We did it for the first time last week at 12+5. She found it initially but then either baby moved or she said my bladder refilling can impact ability to hear.

  I bought one - initially couldn’t find the heartbeat myself, but after going to my 12 week appt and seeing the nurse find baby with it, I’ve been able to too 😊 
  

  
  

  Do what makes you happy! It’s a great feeling to be able to check on baby at home - just don’t stress out if you can’t find it.

  I had one my first pregnancy! I never had trouble finding the heartbeat, of course everybody is different. I am def getting another one this go around.

  I used one every week for only 2 minutes. It gave me peace in between those monthly doctor visits. I stop once I feel my baby kick. Once Indidnt feel my baby kick for hours so Inised Doppler and found the heartbeat and felt better my baby was asleep.
