How to make myself eat

Hi everyone,
I have been struggling to eat. I feel sick all the time, not vomit sick but just nothing sounds good and I feel like gagging. Then I get hunger pains and I know I need to eat. The only thing is, I can’t find anything I could possibly get myself to eat. Once the food is in front of me, I start feeling sick. I just force myself to eat but I’m not eating the amount I know I should be. I’m going to Disney World next week and I’m dreading feeling this way. My doctor prescribed me zofran to help with the nauseated feeling but I haven’t tried it yet. Is there anything you guys do to help with this? A go-to food that’s easy for you to get down? Home remedies?
Thanks for your help! 🙂

Hi! Yes I’m definitely in the same boat. I am sick everyday, sometimes I just gag and sometimes I vomit but it all hurts and feel disgusting.. I don’t eat well but when I get a craving I try to eat a lot of it .. sometimes I make myself eat a banana or grapes but usually I have to wait until I crave. It’s not healthy.. people have told me to try a smoothie. I also drink the ensures.I’m going on my very first cruise today and I did not plan to be pregnant for it but here I am.. I have the Zofran and they do work for the most part. However it won’t make you feel 100% yourself.. just better than feeling all the way bad ya know..

@jazzylady3122519 i’ve been thinking of trying smoothies! i haven’t had one in a while and it sounds like it’s something easy to get down. good luck on your cruise, hopefully we can get through our trips without too much trouble
  • Honest to goodness I’ve been distracting myself with an open sleeve of crackers or container of nuts or cheese next to me, so I can absentmindedly eat without thinking too much about the thing I’m eating or what it tastes like. Watching a really engrossing show or doing some work on my computer is when I slip into my pre-pregnancy-nausea snacking habits. 😅
  • Wow - I’m experiencing this EXACT SAME THING. I’m 6 weeks, and haven’t had an appetite at all. (Doesn’t help that prior to pregnancy I’ve never had a crazy appetite either). I know I’m hungry, but just nothing ever sounds appetizing. I don’t fully throw up, just dry heaving and nauseous feeling.

Unfortunately one thing I do, is try to buy whatever it is I suddenly think of that sounds good (sometimes it Sams Pizza - just last night it was Coco Puffs - which my husband was so confused about because I’ve never ate them).

I have this salty taste in my mouth, so I’ve been craving sweet stuff. Don’t even want to drink water (I know that’s so bad). But it changes.

A few things I’ve been able to eat are - Quaker chocolate and peanut butter granola bars, Blue Gatorade’s, Skinny Pop microwave popcorn, chocolate breakfast essentials, freeze pops, and outshine sugar free popsicles.

Just turned 10w and I’m struggling to maintain my weight. It takes me a good hour or so to get myself to not-starving, then I visit the bathroom and immediately feel completely empty all over again. I’m not even experiencing traditional nausea, I just despise all food and how much work it is. Comforting to see I’m not an outlier.
