Hello Everyone,
We just finished our first cycle of IVF after four failed IUI’s. We had 18 eggs retrieved, 13 fertilized, 7 made it to blasts, and we ended up with 6 genetically normal embryos. We’re so grateful about the numbers but now I’m conflicted on whether I should have an ERA test done as a preventative measure. We haven’t had a transfer yet due to my high TSH. We’re most likely transferring in August. I do suffer from anxiety, and I tend to worry if the transfer won’t work. I know it’s something I can’t control, but at the same time I don’t want to waste any embryos. I am currently working with my therapist and hoping to feel better about this whole experience.
Re: Conflicted on ERA test (warning IUI failure, anxiety)
In preparation for doing our first transfer, our fertility doctor was monitoring my uterine lining progression via ultrasound to make sure it was thick enough to manage the transfer. I suspect for the first try, this was sufficient enough. He never mentioned doing an ERA with me.
We had our retrieval May 3 and ended up with 3 genetically normal embryos. We also debated doing an ERA cycle. We decided against it though. And have a tentative transfer June 28!
Here's a great podcast that we listened to and helped us make the decision about the ERA.

I wanted to get one out of a precaution, my doctor never mentioned it the ERA. We decided on not doing it. How did your transfer go?
Thank you for the link! I will definitely listen to this. I wish you a successful transfer. Please keep us updated.
