  • @cpk3535 Yes! I am absolutely in the "am I here too early" team. Especially since I'm 41, too.
@ladykaty91 Haha, my SO and I spent yesterday afternoon sorting through cloth nappies that I had from my first two kids. Nesting is on.
@LaceyBee522 Hi from a 41-year-old! I am totally 'in' for an 'old ladies weekly check-in' 😁 I'm glad to see that there are several of us here.
@kelsdoogs Beware of google 😂 It can be a force of both good and evil.

    EDD / Weeks + Days:
    2/18/23 - 4w3d

Baby is the size of a: poppyseed

    Team blue/pink/green: Team finding out

Upcoming Appointments: First appointment is a phone appt with my GP in a week on the 23rd. I live in the UK and they're much less into monitoring here than the US so I wish I could at least get some blood draws to check hCG.

How are you feeling?: Good but nervous due to my age (41). However, I am seriously suffering from allergies. I am already feeling distraught at the lack of meds I'll be able to take for the next 9 months+.

Rants/Raves: I've already decided to pay for a private u/s when I'm about 7.5 weeks just for reassurance since I won't meet my midwife until 8-10 weeks. But I feel like the next few weeks are going to draggggggg on and I'll just be nervous until then. I'm trying to be chill and not borrow from future grief but it's not working  :D

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: It's summer, it's hot outside, and an ice cream truck shows up in your neighborhood. What's your go-to order when you walk up to the counter?
    Italian Ice!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days:  Feb 5th-7th, ~6weeks ish

Baby is the size of a(n):  pomegranate seed

Team blue/pink/green:  team green, i think!

Upcoming Appointments:  Blood draw today to confirm HCG levels before my initial appt can be scheduled, but based on an already scheduled vacation out of state, my first appt won't be until I'm close to 13th weeks...
    :(

How are you feeling?:  Insomnia is by far the worst, I agree @runningyogimama it's gotten worse and earlier with each pregnancy!  Though like clockwork at 6 weeks, nausea has reared it's ugly head though so far it's been bearable...

Rants/Raves:  We moved into a new home about 2 months ago and it has felt like pulling teeth to get service providers and contractors out to provide estimates for various needs.  No one returns phone calls, or they are no shows, etc.  Between 2 kids and a full time job - I don't have time for this!  I'm literally begging to pay these people for a service that they advertise...I get that everyone is busy but - i don't get it !

Questions:  Any one out there have theories about why some women have pregnancy nausea and others have virtually no symptoms??  My symptoms for my previous 2 pregnancies were the same, nausea/fatigue and all the typical symptoms in the typical timeframe of 6-12 ish weeks before they cleared up. So not terrible like some who experience hyperemesis or nausea throughout, but definitely not nothing like some women!  It's just so intriguing.

GTKY: It's summer, it's hot outside, and an ice cream truck shows up in your neighborhood. What's your go-to order when you walk up to the counter? Strawberry shortcake bar all the way - brings back childhood memories!

  • I’m in for the older ladies check in board, too! 🙌❤️
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 5w

Baby is the size of a(n): speck of fairy dust (because let’s be real at this point)

    Team blue/pink/green: LOL

Upcoming Appointments: 6/20 U/S to locate the pregnancy

How are you feeling?: Well, it’s 6:17 and I’m in bed. First trimester exhaustion has already hit which is super hard when taking care of a toddler all day! Other than that, just the regulars. Boobs sore, pelvic cramping/pressure, and a desire to never eat kale again.

Rants/Raves: Rant: Kale is now disgusting
Rave: Going to see Paul McCartney in concert on Thursday and soooooo excited.

    Questions: None

GTKY: It's summer, it's hot outside, and an ice cream truck shows up in your neighborhood. What's your go-to order when you walk up to the counter?
If it was 1990, def a WWF cookie ice cream bar IYKYK or a choco-taco. Or both, yolo.

All for an old ladies check in! On my N20 board we did a weekly AMA one (I wasn’t AMA).
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: February 13th / 5wk 2d

Baby is the size of a(n): appleseed

Team blue/pink/green: I'm hoping pink, husband is hoping blue (having a girl terrifies him)

Upcoming Appointments: Med Discussion with my OB because I have a complicated medical history and they need to assess each of my meds.

How are you feeling?: Exhausted, queasy, and still a bit nervous. I haven't been pregnant in 4 years and it ended in a MMC, so I'm a bit anxious to say the least.

Rants/Raves: DS is with his dad for his summer, and DSS doesn't fly in for his until July. So I have a bit of time to get all my summer projects done without a kiddo under foot...but I'm so tired. 😫 All I want to do is nap!

    Questions: Not at the moment.

GTKY: It's summer, it's hot outside, and an ice cream truck shows up in your neighborhood. What's your go-to order when you walk up to the counter? I'm an ice cream fiend, so that's a hard one! At this moment, probably a Snickers ice cream. But my answer might change tomorrow!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: February 14,  5w+1

Baby is the size of a(n): no idea. Really small

Team blue/pink/green: we were team green for my other 2 so i assume the same this time. Love driving people crazy not finding out.

Upcoming Appointments: first appt is 7/6

How are you feeling?: anxious. I’m terrified that something bad is going to happen.

Rants/Raves:  I’m still trying to process everything.

    Questions: none at the moment

GTKY: It's summer, it's hot outside, and an ice cream truck shows up in your neighborhood. What's your go-to order when you walk up to the counter?   Aww man I love all the ice cream and cool treats. Depends on the mood. Drumstick probably for ice cream or a bomb pop
  • @emeraldisle17 getting contractors/service providers was THE HARDEST part of moving into the new house. Not the low inventory, not the inflated prices, just finding someone to mow the grass and install landscaping! It was insane! I think it was the post-covid boom of everyone wanting to get stuff done. But I live in rural Missouri now, where most people think COVID is fake, so I don't even know.

@laurenmicheley OMG, I'm so jealous of your McCartney concert!! I grew up a crazy Beatles fan and I still love them. I was able to Paul in concert twice. I really want to see him one more time, bc I know he's getting older.

@lolly-pop I hope the discussion goes smoothly with your doc. Are you nervous about changing your meds?

@angbaby83 that is LEGIT the best part of being Team Green!! MH and I don't care if it is a boy or a girl, but literally everyone else does! When we didn't find out with the twins, people actually thought we were lying and that we had actually found out the sexes, but didn't tell anyone. It was crazy!! Hugs for your anxiety. It totally sucks, but I think that's a totally normal place to be right now. If it gives you any comfort you aren't alone. I think a lot of us on this board are right there with you.

  • @LaceyBee522 more nervous because I know that they probably won’t change my meds. They are class C/D, but without them, I am prone to fainting spells and have given myself a concussion/injuries in the past. So now I’m filled with mom guilt 😔
  • @lolly-pop I had the same issue with my first pregnancy for my epilepsy drugs at that time. I had to go through several special tests and scans, but baby turned out fine. Don’t feel mom guilt about that- you’re just taking care of yourself for your family! Also, on the drugs, I eventually switched to another epilepsy drug that didn’t fall under that high risk category and seems to work just as well (neither completely takes my seizures away), so maybe check if you have other options? Best of luck to you- you’ll be a wonderful mama❤️
  • @lolly-pop, I'm sorry girl - that's not easy. I agree with @cpk3535, though, you have to take care of you first, so you can keep growing that little on!!  <3

  • @LaceyBee522 Concert was out of control! He played for 3 hours straight, surprised us with Springsteen, and set of crazy fireworks during Live and Let Die. He turns 80 tomorrow and I’m like “who is his plastic surgeon and how does he have the entertainer?!?!” Was a top 5 concert experience.
  • @laurenmicheley omg, that sounds amazing! I was never a big fan of Live and Let Die until I saw it live. It is so awesome!

  • @laurenmicheley I had the absolute privilege of seeing Paul McCartney perform in like 2006 (?) and he was OUTSTANDING. Absolutely floored me. I love the Beatles, but I went in expecting who knows what. He was amazing and I would pay big bucks to see him again!!
  • @cpk3535 and @LaceyBee522 thank you. I am also trying to remind myself that my sister was on the same meds during her pregnancy and my niece is a perfectly healthy 3 month old!
