Ask a STM+ - June

This is a place for first time mom's to ask questions to those who have been there. Also, let's use this for moms to ask those with more kids about transitions and such (like the transition from one to two, or two to three, etc..)

Re: Ask a STM+ - June

  • Absolutely ridiculous question but….will I need new underwear?

  • Lol! You might. My hips definitely widened after my first pregnancy. I never needed to buy maternity underwear or anything, but I did purchase some “granny panties” in a larger size for postpartum to be able to keep all the pads, tucks, etc in place while healing, lol.
  • If anyone has input on going from 2-3 kids that would be cool! I used to always hear that 1-2 was the hardest, and now I’m seeing people saying that 2-3 is extremely hard still. Now, I know it’s another whole child so I’m not expecting it to be a breeze, but going from 1-2 was so so bad because my second boy has just screamed for the first year and a half straight. Slight exaggeration. Haha
I have two boys, 3 and 18 months.

@annemarie96 ok, so I’m in the same boat! My 2nd boy is like some sort of screaming yelling monster. We can do this! We can do hard things!
  • @annemarie96 I’m in the same boat but slightly different age group- I have a 2.5yo and an 11yo. I’m almost doing the first thing again, going to what I avoided the first go round having two smaller kids at the same time. My oldest daughter has been a champ and such a help ever since our youngest daughter arrived, even though she didn’t want siblings. I think /hope we’re going to play well as a team!!
  • My first babies were also ages 3 and 1 when my 3rd was born. I just remember that newborn bringing so much joy amidst the toddler chaos. You just have to slow down and be patient with yourself because you can only do so much. 3 wasn't that hard of a transition for me but 4 was!! 😵‍💫

I think it has a lot to do with your current life situation and children's personalities but I definitely believe that we're given the children we're meant to raise. Therefore you can do it!
  • @samd6 you just described my second son perfectly 😂
