Inconsistent spotting

Hey ladies!! This is my first post here in the group. I’m kind of losing my mind right now and figured I’d introduce myself. I’m 36, I have 3 beautiful children 18, 7 & 5. I’ve had 3 miscarriages with a history of pcos. I should be due around feb 7th... with that said, I spotted for 4 days straight which was more brown colored. I thought for sure I was going to miscarry, but then it stopped for 2 days, only to return a bit brighter red a few hours ago. My husband and I were intimate last night, but there was no spotting this morning so I’m not sure if it’s from that.

Has anyone experienced a miscarriage where the spotting came and went like this? I’d go see my midwife but I’m on vacation until next week :(

Re: Inconsistent spotting

  • hi! Ok so I also have some brown spotting. It was a little last night and this morning but faint and I haven’t had it since. I had a chemical last month - so am extra nervous. I spoke to my doctor he said not to worry and just avoid intercourse for now (I didn’t have any but I see you did so maybe avoid it to be safe!) I had my hcg drawn yesterday at 15dpo and going back tomorrow. FC for us 💓

  • Basically if anything goes near my cervix, I bleed pink and then spot brown for 48 hours. Like a small breeze into my vagina could set it off.

My pregnancy is a result of ivf so I’ve already had a 5.5 week ultrasound and everything looked ok and my doctor said bleeding is fine (and common!) so long as it’s not bright red and you’re not filling a pad.

I know how scary it is though.
