Re: PGAL (Pregnant after Loss) 6/9

  • I’m 5w5d today. I had a MMC in December, but didn’t know there was a problem until my first appointment at 10 weeks. My baby measured only 6 weeks at the ultrasound and couldn’t find a heartbeat. I’m anxiously awaiting my first appointment in 3 weeks to make sure everything’s ok. Since the MC I had shorter cycles so I found out about this pregnancy pretty early (around 3w5d), so the line on my test was kind of faint.

I’m wondering if I should test again just to make sure the line is darker?? I also don’t want to make myself crazy about it. Any thoughts mamas?

  • @ladykaty91 Honestly, the line getting darker, while it might make you feel better, it really isn't a good indicator. Have you requested HCG draws from your OBs office? That would be my go to. I have had two MMC in the past year, and having those draws and US were the only way we found out, because I was still getting "dye stealers" on home tests.

  • How far along are you? 6w2d

What is your loss history (if you'd like to share it)? MMC/Blighted Ovum July '21  at 9wks that led to D&C, and MMC/BO Feb '22 at 7wks that led to D&C. One was due to Trisomy 13 and the other was Trisomy 16, and both found out at the first US.

Do you have any upcoming milestones? We just passed a milestone by seeing babies heartbeat at 6w. We are going in again Next Friday (7w2d) to make sure we are still on track and then moving on to regular prenatal care.

How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty good. I'm very happy that we were able to see a heartbeat and see that baby is growing as expected. US appts are pretty triggering for me now, and the last one went well, so I am hoping that they will get easier the further alone we get. Still anxious as hell, but trying to be hopeful at the same time.

Any questions or concerns? None at the moment.

  • So just found out I’m pregnant, almost 4 weeks.I have a 9 and 5 year old and wanting a 3rd kid. I had a miscarriage last May at 6 weeks and one 3 months ago that was a empty sac and had a D and C. I’m feeling pretty numb at this point, kinda excited but I guess not letting myself feel until ultrasound.

Wondering if any of you guys are on baby aspirin? My doctor told me to try it to help prevent another miscarriage, I have been but also kind of nervous of possible side effects
  • Changed my user name now, didn’t know about the knottie thing

@ladykaty91 *Should* you test again to make yourself less anxious? Prob not. *Have* I been taking a test daily and examining it carefully to see if it seems to be getting appropriately darker over time? Yes, yes I have. 😂
  • Currently 4w4d previous loss was dec 20th 2021. It was my first pregnancy we were 15w3d and were supposed to find out the gender for Christmas at that ultrasound no heartbeat was heard. 4 days previous we had a healthy strong heartbeat. A few months later we were given the clear and have been blessed again but i find myself testing daily even tho it has been 6 days of positive tests. Im not sure how to wrap my head around it. I think what makes it hard as well is i just passed my delivery date and this did make it easier but it just doesnt seem real. I suppose i was wondering if anyone else felt this way? Thank you.

  • How far along are you? 4 weeks

What is your loss history (if you'd like to share it)? I had a chemical last cycle. This is my second attempt at getting pregnant, first one ended with a CP at 5 weeks.

Do you have any upcoming milestones? Not yet! Going to get my HCG tested on Monday. I did see a darker line on 11dpo this time than 15 dpo last time, so I guess thats a little hopeful!

How are you feeling? Feeling better than I thought i'd be. Still nervous of course. Crazy I think I was more nervous the first time around with no previous MC. I am on 200mg of progesterone daily (not sure if thats the issue from last time, but I do have low progesterone), so I feel a little more confident.

  • How far along are you?
    5 weeks

What is your loss history (if you'd like to share it)?
Three MMC after my healthy 3.5 yr old girl. #1 at 8.5 weeks (stopped growing at 7 weeks 3 days- not tested), #2 at 6ish weeks (stopped growing around that time- tested and was triploidy), and #3 at 11.5 weeks (stopped growing at 10.5- testing as normal baby girl)

Do you have any upcoming milestones?
Not really yet. I think I wont feel great until we are into the 2nd trimester. First US in two weeks.

    How are you feeling?
All over the place. Happy/excited/hopeful one minute and scared the next.

    Any questions or concerns?
    hoping all our babies stick!
  • Ahhhhh! Freaking out! I’m 6weeks 2 days with my second try. I had a MC in March of this year. I was two days away from 12 weeks. My first OB appointment is in two weeks. So I’m hopeful all is well. Last time we made it through the first one a ok but the second OB visit we didn’t make it to because my body decided to MC like 3 days before. I’m feeling nervous and excited and am trying not to let it sink in until like week 24 or something haha! I’m hopeful everyone gets the rainbow baby they deserve!!
  • I'm 4w3d today.

My first loss was a chemical in Aug '21. My second was a mmc at 9 weeks in Jan - I ended up having to get a d&c.

The ob who performed my d&c has ended up becoming my primary ob. Even though I haven't passed the "3 loss" threshold, he wants me to come in early (my first appointment is in 2 days) and every week or every other week to keep track of my pregnancy progress and to help relieve my stress. So I guess that first appointment will be a milestone. The next will hopefully be hearing a heartbeat in a few weeks.

I'm thrilled and terrified, though as the days have passed since getting my first dark positive, I really have become more thrilled. My husband is anxious as hell though 😅

I just want an uneventful pregnancy and a healthy baby. I hope we all get that - ttc loss has been the most life-changing and arduous struggle.

I'm 4 weeks 4 days. I had 2 chemicals this year at 4 weeks and 5 days each time. But this time I'm feeling subtle symptoms and my line is nice and dark rather than getting lighter as it did by now the previous 2 times. I also had a chemical last May and an early miscarriage in 2017 with a rainbow baby soon after.

We were not planning any of these pregnancies and are happy with our 5 children, but it was still exciting to find out I was pregnant and hard when we lost them. The time before this, I was sick and pretty much knew it wasn't going to make it right away because the line was so faint. I think I'm more excited this time around, yet nervous because I don't know for sure if this one will stick (feeling optimistic though) and I'm in my 40s now which is a little different.

I'll feel pretty relieved once I get to 8 weeks. All my losses were before that.
  • @seeds_of_joy nice to see you here! I’m also a STM+ in her 40s feeling pretty good about this pregnancy, but also pretty content with the babies I’ve had already ❤️ Hope we all come out well!!
