*Trigger Warning - Miscarriage Insights

Hey ladies - hopefully somebody can give some insight to this topic. (I know it can be rather painful to discuss - so if nobody answers, it’ll be understandable).

This is my first pregnancy, just turned 6 weeks today.

I’ve had extremely painful periods since I was 14 (unofficially diagnosed with endometriosis) - and PCOS has been mentioned due to my reversed hormone and testosterone levels. I tend to be a worrier, so I’ve always been fearful of not being able have a baby.

But after a recent family planning visit with a new OB, everything from the test (and naked eye) showed that I should have no problems.

Safe to say I didn’t, because after being 3 days late last month, I took a test and it said positive. Ive take at least 5 test, all saying positive. Have the normal symptoms, no appetite, weird taste in my mouth, nausea, extremely tender breast.

I’m still fearing a miscarriage. (Partially because my mind always go to worse case scenarios and I’m just scared).

Knowing more about the topics/situation, always makes me feel better. More prepared. Know what to look for.

Any insight anyone can provide would be awesome!

Re: *Trigger Warning - Miscarriage Insights

  • Huge congrats on your pregnancy! My sister has PCOS and had a perfectly healthy pregnancy. Getting pregnant with PCOS is typically the difficult part. Once you’re there, your chances of miscarriage should match those of any other healthy pregnant mom. Best of luck!

  • I’ve been through 3 pregnancies, only 1 resulting in a live birth. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, and I had no symptoms outside of missing my period. I started bleeding at 9 weeks and miscarried. My second pregnancy I had nausea if it had been too long since I ate and a few food aversions. I had my son at 37 weeks. I got a BFP on Mother’s Day this year, and started bleeding 5 days later, resulting in a miscarriage. I had morning sickness, food aversions, and very sore boobs.

Symptoms vary pregnancy to pregnancy. Just because you’re not feeling anything does not mean you are at risk for miscarriage. I have a mantra I repeat to myself every day after I get my BFP… repeat after me:

    today, I am pregnant.

Don’t worry until your body gives you reason to. Congratulations!
  • I'm currently going through a miscarriage. I bled light bleeding and spotting for a week. It made 1 week on Saturday. Yesterday (Sunday) I started passing huge clots and lots of blood. Bad enough I almost ended in the ER from loss of blood (I'm anemic) so far clotting only happened for 1 day still bleeding today though. I wouldn't worry, as I did the same, I even took about 7-8 test to just be 100% sure it was a positive. I miscarried the day I turned 10 weeks pregnant. Bleeding began at 9 weeks pregnant. Just don't stress, stay relaxed, and never over do your self. Do lift anything either, my doctor always gave me a strict nothing more than a 10 pound limit. I'll be praying you have a safe and healthy pregnancy and carry to full term ❤️

Thank you ladies so much! For the transparency and insight!

That waiting period for going in to your first appointment is excruciating and sends your mind on a frenzy - but I made it 🙌🏽  I saw my baby and heard it’s heart beat.

Still find myself looking at the tissue every time I wipe, ordering a fetal Doppler (which didn’t work at the moment lol), watching my stomach like a hawk to see any changes.

I normally feel so in control of my body, but with this being my first pregnancy and a completely new experience for me, I’m on edge. Because I just don’t know what my bodies doing, when it’ll happen. But I love the mantra someone else mentioned “today, I’m pregnant”. I’ve been praying every night for me, baby, and my pregnancy to be blessed. So 🤞🏽 - but thank you all again!

  • I can relate I am currently 10 weeks I had 2 miscarriages.. no children yet.. went to my first appointment on 5/25 and was so heartbroken when I was told I wasnt having an ultrasound. I am an over thinker and I hate to admit I think of the worst first so every abdominal discomfort drives me crazy…. I keep telling myself that this time it’s gonna be different but I keep going back to what if same happens again… I can’t wait to know what’s happening… my ultrasound is scheduled for 6/7/22…. I keep finding positive thought.. I failed driving test twice and got my license last year on June 7th so I am praying this June 7th will also find me walking away with a wide smile…. BE STRONG.. leaving you with BOB MARLEYS EVERY LIKKLE TING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT!!!!! One love!!

My 12 week appointment is June 8th!

Sending you all the love and positivity - June 7th will be your special day!

You are right, we’re going to be ok! We’re going to have healthy babies. Let’s let go of these constant worries - and just keep reminding ourselves we’re all good.
  • Hey, how’d your ultrasound go?
  • ajhiaeajhiae member
    Hi!

No ultrasound this time, just a Doppler to hear babies heartbeat - and it was strong! Still sitting really low, like right at my bikini line.

Since seeing the nurse use the Doppler I know where to look my my own - and I’ve actually found the heartbeat twice since my appt 😊

Still chanting happy baby, healthy baby, today I’m pregnant 🤞🏽
