  • I feel like absolute garbage most days and I can’t wait to tell everyone I’m pregnant to get a little slack 😝 my dating ultrasound can’t come soon enough for that and to ease my mind that all is ok! I feel like once I see baby my anxieties will be lowered a little, however I still don’t even have my ultrasound date yet 🙄
  • @tryingktogku I want to join in on bitching that I don’t have an ultrasound date yet. 😭

  • @ReadyForaB @tryingktogku I’m joining in on this bitch fest. My last RE did US at 6/7/8 and 9 weeks and this one only does 7 weeks. I don’t want to wait that long 😭
  • @footdrbritt I have my first appointment tomorrow which I will be exactly 7 weeks for. No ultrasound in sight yet. 😩

  • @ReadyForaB @footdrbritt I called my midwives today and they said they had my dating US scheduled for the end of June I was like uhhh I’ll be like 10 weeks then? And she was like oh I’ll send another referral and let you know by the end of this week 🙄 like if my US is next week (which it should be at 8weeks) then I’d like to let my manager know ASAP to get the time off work approved!

It is really true when people say those you care about show their true colours when you’re pregnant. Members of my family speak to be with disrespect & I ended up in hospital with flu and none of them cared bar 1 of my sisters. Hurtful and just shocking when you are always there for others. I’m so lucky I have a caring mother in law and partner.
  • Can I b*tch about the state of maternal care and leave in the States? Because holy $h*t, it’s INFURIATING that my husband’s employer, a fully-remote tech operation, offers more paternity leave than my employer, a school, offers leave for mothers. I worry about having a daughter because at the rate we’re going, nothing will have changed by the time she wants to have kids. Anyone else want to move to Finland??
  • @jesele How much time is the school offering you vs. how much time hubby gets? I know this is a stretch but maybe you can cross the state line and move to MA! Our state just passed a law last year where we can apply for 12 weeks paid leave to run concurrent with FMLA (called PFMLA). Maybe NH has something similar?
  • I finally got my urine and blood work results back from my appt last week. Apparently I have a UTI and also they said my urine tested positive for strep b and I have to do the antibiotics at delivery.

First, I didn't think they tested this early for strep b. All my other pregnancies they just did the swab later in pregnancy. And I didn't have this with my other pregnancies so am just annoyed about it in general!

And we are out of town so I had to make several phone calls to get my prescription transferred to a pharmacy here!
  • @itsmejay the school offers 12 weeks through short term disability, but my husband’s firm is one that does one year for all parents, no questions asked. I know I’m lucky to get anything, but I’m so jealous his company has more value for dads than my school does for mamas.
  • @jesele Wow! One year? That is almost unheard of around here. My last company offered 4 months and I thought that was very generous already. With my first, I only had 6 weeks.
  • @jesele are you planning on taking your allotted time then your hubby taking the rest of the year off? I know not ideal as you would rather be with baby but also that is a really amazing thing you have the opportunity for mama and or dada to be off for the first year with baby
  • @tryingktogku oh we’re going to use up every single available minute we possibly can, absolutely!
  • @jesele my SIL only took 4 months for her mat leave and my BIL took the remainder and it actually fostered such an amazing bond between my nephew and BIL! So when my SIL got pregnant again only like 3 months postpartum it wasn’t too hard on her to welcome new baby because her first already had dad as the “preferred” parent! Just food for thought! I may consider giving up some of my mat leave even to help my husband foster a bond with baby (my first is 100% a mamas boy and it’s heavy on my husbands heart how much he prefers me)
  • @jesofthenorth damn! What company does your husband work for?
