1st Trimester

So hungry! Please help.

I am almost 6 weeks pregnant with my second and I am starving BUT I’m having a hard time eating. I have to force myself. When I take a few bites it just becomes off putting, so I end up throwing it out. I do have nausea randomly throughout the day too. I did not have these issue with my first and I’m a little worried about losing weight and not giving the baby what it needs.

  • It’s totally okay to lose weight in the first trimester.  Trust your body.  It knows what it’s doing.  

    If you haven’t tried already, try snacking throughout the day instead of planning meals.  That was hard for me to transition to, but it has helped.  I pre-make a lot and store it in Tupperware or mason jars for quick access. Here’s an example (I’m vegetarian) 

    -overnight oats with chia seeds and berries for breakfast

    -yogurt and granola for mid morning snack

    -veggies and some kind of dip around lunch or half a sandwich

    -green smoothie 

    -dinner: a small bit of whatever I make for my family. Tonight it was mini naan pizzas.  


    I probably look like a crazy woman brining 4 mason jars plus my giant water full of lemon, cucumber, and ginger (digestion!) into work every morning- but it’s really helped me both eat and not overeat during this first trimester.
