  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 5/1AL

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m just hoping I ovulate this cycle.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? We scheduled our first weekend getaway as a family and I’m so excited! MH does not like being away from home, and I’m an adventurous soul, so he’s been fine since COVID, but I’ve been stir crazy. We found an Airbnb that is kid friendly and has a swing set, so he told me to go ahead with it! I can’t wait!

GTKY: Have you made or did you think about a career change (which includes becoming a SAHParent) after becoming a parent? Not even a bit. I love my job 95% of the time, so I haven’t really thought about leaving education. This year has tested my love for it, but I’m still in it to win it!

    Month/Cycle? 17/2AL

    WTO/TWW? TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 3.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? Feeling really hopefully, but also cautiously optimistic.

    Any questions? Nada

Rant/Rave? We had soccer again this weekend and DS is really struggling. He is the youngest on the team and quite possibly the whole league. The coaches don't seem to mind but I really hope the other parents hate us. DS kept picking up grass and throwing it at the coaches.. granted they played into it and didn't ask him to stop so he kept going but still. I paid a lot for soccer and I don't want him to quit but I also don't know how much longer he can handle it for..

GTKY: Have you made or did you think about a career change (which includes becoming a SAHParent) after becoming a parent? I've thought about it but haven't yet. We really want to move to FL and if we do, I would love to build up my travel agent business and use that full time so that I could stay home.

    Month/Cycle? 4/4

    WTO/TWW? IVF so not relevant

Ages of other child(ren)? 9.5, 7.5 and will be 5 next month

Any thoughts about this cycle? BCP cycle and they are making me feel AWFUL

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? It's my 30th Birthday. We have been so busy that I was not like a chill weekend.  All I want is to be lazy for a few days.

GTKY: Have you made or did you think about a career change (which includes becoming a SAHParent) after becoming a parent? I was a full time college student when my first was born and a SAHM.  I SAH for the first year with all of my kids. I worked for a year in child welfare and that was brutal.  I'm social worker now and would probably work with the next babe unless they come super early like my almost 5 year old did.  With her they told me if I could swing staying home with her to do it because she was born at 28 weeks.

  • @ejoseph16 That Air bnb sounds great! I hope you have a wonderful time and also FX for ovulation this cycle.

@tessiesmom26 Ooof, soccer at that age seems impossible. I feel like they need to be in elementary school before they can actually play games. I hope that your son is liking it at least and I can't imagine any of the parents are taking it seriously with the kids that young but maybe I've just been away from the States for too long 😂 The FL move and job change sounds really exciting!

@mambo5-2 Child welfare and social work both sound very emotionally draining. Thank you for your service to society. And, Happy Birthday!! I hope you get to have a little time off to enjoy it.

What number are you trying for? 3 (1st for SO)

    Month/Cycle? 9/8

    WTO/TWW? TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 8, 5

Any thoughts about this cycle? Should end tomorrow so I'll go for cautiously optimistic about the next one 😁

    Any questions? Natm

    Rant/Rave?

GTKY: Have you made or did you think about a career change (which includes becoming a SAHParent) after becoming a parent? I have had three different jobs since the kids were born but all of them are in academia. The plus side is that they are very flexible which really helps with parenting. The negative is the pay is shit, so I've considered going back to industry but I really can't face a proper 9-5 anymore, even though I liked the work. Maybe when the kids are older and more self-sufficient but probably not. I love teaching college kids, I just wish the pay and job security were better. However, I was very intrigued by midwifery after becoming pregnant and doula work could be interesting in the future.
  • @ejoseph16 I hope you enjoy your trip and DH makes the best of it hahaa

@tessiesmom26 sorry your LO isn’t loving the soccer! Sometimes it’s so hard to decide whether it’s better to pull them or make them see it through! At the end of the day you know in your gut what’s best for your LO!

    @mambo5-2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🥳

@Paturkey lmao 9-5 is a DREAM for me! So funny how peoples perspectives can be so different!

    WTO/TWW? WFAF

    Ages of other child(ren)? 17months

Any thoughts about this cycle? Feeling really good about this new protocol so long as everything goes to plan!

    Any questions? Natm

Rant/Rave? DS cried bloody murder being put into the car seat and at daycare drop off so that was fun. My heart will remain in my stomach until I get the daily update this afternoon. This is only his third week but the first time this has happened! Makes my mama heart hurt

GTKY: Have you made or did you think about a career change (which includes becoming a SAHParent) after becoming a parent?

I just made a huge career change! I’m in my 3rd week as a community care coordinator! I came from 12hr shift work as a hospital nurse and 100% did this for family life because I LOVED my job and my coworkers (which I miss both immensely  as I’m learning this new role) the 8:30-4:30 has been amazing and DH and DS and I are all adjusting well so far! Once I’m done training I’ll have a life of flexibility as it’s hybrid work from home, in office, and patient community visits so that is really enticing to me as I sit on my computer for the third week in a row doing corporate orientation still 😆 so yeah looking forward to actually starting the real job!
  • @tryingktogku awww momma stay strong! DS went through a phase like that a few months ago for me, and he’s been with the same sitter since he was 5 months old. He would even scream if I left him with DH. ❤️
  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 5/4

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 13 months on Friday

Any thoughts about this cycle? Hopeful, but trying not to get my hopes too far up. Honestly I'm counting down until we start Clomid again, and hoping that it works. The good news is that I ovulated sooner than my two prior cycles, and my LP is back to it's usual length, so I'm cautiously optimistic that my cycle is getting back to normal.

    Any questions? NATM

Rant/Rave? I took my boards yesterday, so I'm enjoying the feeling of freedom! Now I just have to wait for my results and pray that I passed.

GTKY: Have you made or did you think about a career change (which includes becoming a SAHParent) after becoming a parent? Yes, I considered being a SAHM, but I have a higher earning potential than DH, and I'm so far in it doesn't make much sense to stop now. Also, I love my job most of the time, but I do miss being with DD and feel like I don't have enough time with her.
  • @ejoseph16 enjoy the adventure!

@tessiesmom26 aww, I think that's adorable actually. Does he not enjoy it?

    @Paturkey midwifery sounds interesting!

@tryingktogku aww, you're doing great mama! DD had a similar episode a few months ago, but when I called to check on her at lunch she was over it pretty much immediately and was playing. Hopefully your son rebounds as fast! I know how much it hurts though, I had to fight myself not to run back in and scoop her up.
  • @bbrahmbhatt if your ovulating why are you doing clomid too? (Catch me up on your TTC journey!) and thankfully there was no crying at drop off today and apparently he had one of his best days yesterday ever lol
  • @tryingktogku haha, yes it's confusing to me too. The condensed story is we started NTNP in April 2019 as soon as I got my IUD removed. I got pregnant in August 2019, but *TW that pregnancy ended in a CP at 5 weeks END TW*. We then tried for a year without success. We got referred to an RE and had an initial round of testing done, which was all normal. My OB said we should try Clomid while waiting for our RE appointment (it was a 3 month wait), and we got pregnant August 2020 and had DD April 2021. I was EBFing so it took awhile to get my cycle back, and it was LOOOONG. It's just now *kind of* going back to it's pre-pregnancy state. It's weird; based on OPKs and ovulation pain, I am ovulating. I tried temping, but I wasn't good at remembering to do it, and I have insomnia so my readings were pretty inconsistent. I've considered giving it another go.  Honestly I'm not really sure what my deal is. I have a period every cycle, so I don't think I'm anovulatory. My OB said it's possible that DHs sperm "needed more targets". I just wish getting pregnant was as easy as they made it seem like in 8th grade health class.
  • @mambo5-2 I hope you had a great birthday!
@Paturkey I think midwifery/doula would be such a great line of work to get into, but I don't know that I would be able to handle the bad days..
@tryingktogku I hope drop off when better today!
@bbrahmbhatt FX you passed the boards! That must feel like such a relief to be done!

  • @bbrahmbhatt oh okay that makes sense so just doing the same treatment again! I am doing clomid cycle too but I chose to continue to breastfeed through them! (I was anovulatory before so likely still anovulatory and didn’t feel it necessary to wean abs wait for a cycle that won’t come in it own lol and the data is grey about fertility drugs and BF but my RE and lactation consultant gave me the green light!) well Fx clomid does it’s thing for both of us this cycle!
  • @tryingktogku yes, FX crossed it does the trick for both of us! DH and I are doing up to 3 cycles before trying Clomid again since my OB said I *should* still have increased fertility right now. Go mama for continuing to BF! I would have kept BF, but DD never  got a good latch (possible tongue tie, but it was just "possible" so we didn't proceed with any intervention) so I was basically exclusively pumping with comfort nursing. I did it for a year and I was so burnt out from pumping I stopped at her first birthday. She's still getting frozen milk twice a day, and she still LOVES it so I have a little bit of mom guilt.

@mambo5-2 you're a special kind of person; that is so hard. We get the D&C specimens in pathology and it is always hard for me.
  • @bbrahmbhatt omg good for you for continuing with a suboptimal latch! I had my sons ties revised at 15mo and it was a good decision! Wish I did them earlier! I also HATED pumping and my son refuses and cups/bottle of expressed milk and is a great efficient feeder so I didn’t want to stop quite yet but I am slowly weaning! We’re just down to naps on weekends and bedtime! I low key want to keep bedtime so if I do get PG I could continue to nurse and wouldn’t have to go through the awful stages of engorgement again lol
  • @tryingktogku Thank you! <3 It was a rough start; she had high bili and was slow to gain after delivery, and then we found out at her 2 month check up she was still at her birth weight. She was just getting enough to survive, but not enough to gain, so I made the decision to pump and bottle feed and just let her nurse for comfort.  I feel like I didn't get the BF journey I envisioned, but then again hardly anyone does. DD pretty much weaned herself from comfort nursing around 11 months, which was sad for me personally. She is still loving her two cups of frozen milk a day though, so it makes me happy that I stuck with it and was able to feed her and make a stash. Omg the engorgement! I remember waking up shivering because I was soaking wet and milk was still coming out. I had completely forgotten that memory until you mentioned engorgement.
  • What number are you trying for? #2

    Month/Cycle? 1/1

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? Our daughter turned 3 yesterday

Any thoughts about this cycle? No, we just decided #2 was what we wanted. Traumatic birth with our daughter and I was 1 and done for a long time

    Any questions? NATM

Rant/Rave? Moving is stupid. We are trying to coordinate a out of state move and the pieces aren’t fitting very well at the moment

GTKY: Have you made or did you think about a career change (which includes becoming a SAHParent) after becoming a parent?

I work in Admin for Costco. Went from full to part after having the little. So I did make a change but once the move happens I will be picking up school again for nursing.
  • @allduggan11

HELLO! I also had a Traumatic birth with #3 and was done for a long time but here I am back at it, trying for #4 with IVF. Moving is the pits, I hate it and if I ever move again I will cut off my husbands left pinky toe.

  • @allduggan11 +1 for a traumatic birth… I’m terrified of going through it again, but it’s the only way. 😭
  • @allduggan11 @mambo5-2 @ejoseph16 Nikki Bergen who owns The Bell Method has a prenatal push program which has a heavy emphasis on “reclaiming” your birth if youve had a traumatic one that I’ve herd people absolutely rave about! It’s one you can take between 20-35 weeks gestation I think. Just a resource that may be helpful in the future for y’all! I’m so sorry you all had bad experience. Birth doesn’t have to be traumatic and no one birth is the same (this is coming from an old labour and delivery nurse!)
