Positive test then negative the next day.. emotional rollercoaster

Hii:)

I’m on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster the last few days. We actively started trying for a baby in April.
On May 11th, I to my surprise got a positive result! The next day… not pregnant… and then today same thing and not pregnant.
I am about 3 or 4 days late for my period now and am having mild cramping in my lower abdomen.. has anyone else experienced this?

I’ve read online about a hook effect with multiples but I don’t know how accurate that is… I’m a twin and my mother had two sets of twins and my great grandmother had twins so it runs in my family… but who knows.. I’m so confused and getting anything medical done where I like is unreal.

    It’s too early for the hook effect. If you got a positive test, call your medical providers and set up an appointment.

    Yes! Same thing on the same day actually! May 11th positive, then negatives from there on but 6 days late on my period. My doctor said it’s quite common for home tests to not pick it up as it’s quite early still. Definitely make an appointment to get a blood test to confirm. I was told that since my period is so late when it’s otherwise regular- chances are it’s a positive after all. Good luck!

    Test w/ 1st urine.  That would be most accurate.

    I'm right there with you. Last time I had any type of bleeding was March. I have pcos. I kept testing negative until recently. 2 tests said positive. After that I tested in the morning and was negative. I pee throughout the night. Got a bunch of symptoms of pregnancy so I'm just going to go with positive. It wasn't a strong line either. The doc will figure this one out. Keeping my guard up until we see the ultrasound. I'd schedule an appt to be on the safe side.
