Two hCG blood tests - one positive, one negative?

Not TTC but waiting on a follow-up appointment this week to ask another opinion/driving myself crazy in the interim.

I had surgery two weeks ago and ended up having to go to the ER on 5/10 for some complications. They did all the regular tests and when the doctor came in later to go over things, she mentioned that one of the hCG tests was a bit elevated. My husband and I kind of laughed and told her that there was a -1% chance that I'm pregnant - he had a vasectomy 10 years ago, I was on AF at the time of the visit, I've had like 5 urine tests in the past few weeks getting ready for my procedure and they were all negative. There was some concern on my CT for the reason I went in, so that just got swept under the rug. After I was admitted, I looked at the results on my online portal. The normal range was 0-5 mg so I was expecting like 10 or something, but it was at 119. 😳

I was admitted to the hospital for a few days, and finally remembered to bring it up again to another doctor. He looked confused as well, asked if there *was* any chance I could be pregnant, then said he had no idea and would repeat the test. Before discharge, he said the results were negative and I thought that was that. I got the email about my results and looked when I got home, and it was a different test that was repeated. I also had this one done upon arrival and it was negative then as well.

Does anyone have any idea what the difference between the two tests are (hCG quantatative vs. I-stat hCG)? If two of the quantitative tests were negative, but one was positive, what could that mean? I feel like if it were elevated slightly I wouldn't think twice, but 119??
