Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday (7w) for first Ultrasound and appointment
How are you feeling?: I don't know which is worse.... Morning sickness or my night sickness. I just wanna sleep!
Rant/Rave: I planned the most badass summer of my career, and there's a high probability that I won't be able to participate in a majority of the activities. From white water rafting to rock climbing to horseback riding and more. Bummed out, but I will ask the doctor for their opinion.
Questions: I read on another post that the baby wasn't measuring what it should be, like if you're 8w but it's only measuring 6w or something like that. What's that mean and how does it happen? Is it normal?
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Water chestnuts. It's a texture thing.
@greenbean88 have you tried Unisom? The ingredients will help you sleep, can help with the nausea, and is pregnancy safe. You can even cut it in half and just take half a Unisom.
@daffodil_shoe I haven't but I typically have an adversion to medications. I'll have to look into it and maybe give it a try. I've been telling my SO he has to give me a small back rub to help the nausea pass.
@greenbean88 regarding your Q, we all know LMP is sometimes a stupid way to measure pregnancy since it assumed you ovulated on day 14. If you have long cycles, you might ovulate a week or two or more after that. So even though your LMP says 8wks, baby might actually only be at 6wks. That's one reason baby might be measuring small on an US and it's not necessarily a bad thing, it just means your EDD should be adjusted. However, if ovulation date is accurate and baby is measuring small, it could be an indication that they're not growing right. As I understand it, doctors aren't usually super worried about a few days' discrepancy, but more than that might be concerning.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 1-14, 5wk + 1
Baby is the size of a(n): peppercorn
Team blue/pink/green: still not sure!
Upcoming Appointments: not until JUNE! So far away.
How are you feeling?: honestly, I'm feeling great since getting over that stomach bug. I actually wish I had more symptoms bc it's making my anxiety pretty bad. Right now my only symptom is sore boobs.
Rants/Raves: DD had a dance recital yesterday and was able to perform since she was feeling better. She did so awesome, I seriously think she was born for the stage. 🤣 I'm so proud of her!!
Questions: This is my first AMA pregnancy bc I'll be 35 on my EDD. Anything different that I can expect in the process?
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Fish. Literally anything that once lived in the water. If I never had to eat any fish ever again, I'd be a happy lady.
How are you feeling?: T I R E D!! This is my second, my first is almost 2, and I am exhausted most every day. Today I’m having a headache, but I also decided to stop my allergy med routine so I’m not sure if that’s contributing. Otherwise, fatigue is my biggest problem currently.
Rants/Raves: my biggest rave is that I am nervous to tell anyone until we get closer to the second trimester… and I want to shout it out with joy that we’re pregnant! So far it’s my husband, my best friend and my almost 2 yr old that know… we plan to tell our parents at our daughter’s birthday party in June which will be a few weeks before our first appointment. I just feel like I have a dirty little secret lol
Questions: any tips on the transition from 1-2 kids? My daughter is very much a mama’s girl, but I think she’s going to love being a big sister, just hope she doesn’t get upset in the early stages. At least she’s in daycare already, so that will remain the same.
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Not sure if this one is as a pregnant person or in general… but my husband loved to eat Pho and I’ll say that tripe is not my thing lol.
@daffodil_shoe I just thought I was considered AMA if I was 35 at birth...is that not usually the case??
@LaurinAndJordan there's probably not a super graceful way to go from 1 to 2, but for me the transition was easier than from 0 to 1. Having already done it once made the second time more bearable. Now I'm going from 2 to 3 and I'm sure that will just be a dumpster fire lol
How are you feeling? Fine. Sore boobs and being tired is all but so am sure that will change.
Rant/Rave: My OB of 10 plus years that delivered my first two kiddos and has been w me through three losses, preterm labor, and everything in between left the practice. I literally have no doctor at the moment. I am terrified bc I am high risk. My first two I was monitored until 12 weeks by a Reproductive Endocrinologist I had been working w (I have Recurrent Pregnancy Loss among other things that place me at high risk). Literally I am searching for a new doctor and terrified I won’t be see as early as I should.. lots of anxiety!
Questions: Just looking for a great prenatal vitamin that supports MTHFR mutation.
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Ground hog.. I was tricked into trying it. So gross. Whoever eats that on a regular basis, I am so sorry.
How are you feeling?: I have been okay. Still full of anxiety and I have been so extremely tired and having a few headaches.
Rants/Raves: We had some nice weather this weekend so it was nice to get the kids outside for a while. Looking forward to visiting my family in a couple of weeks!
Questions: What do you all take/do for headaches? I know Tylenol is generally acceptable to take, but wanting to know if you have found anything else that works.
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Mushrooms. I hate them so much.
@ReadyForaB My first two ended up being 5 years apart (not what I wanted, but infertility/loss affected that). It really isn't as bad as I thought! And then this one and my youngest will be 3 years apart.
Also I did forget to add on mine that I am confused about if 35 is AMA or not. I feel like some doctors do consider it, but others don't. I am currently 35 and no one has mentioned anything to me about being AMA.
Upcoming Appointments: HCG this morning, again Wednesday, if all is well US next week and formal OB June 20
How are you feeling?: surprisingly calm, ready for my HCG levels
Rants/Raves: this week is going to suck. My practice merged with another practice and I’m moving and it’s a mess. My youngest is having major surgery Wednesday and daycare is being jerks about him coming back next week.
Questions: nope
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again?
@ReadyForaB as you know, I'll be close to you in terms of an age gap! My daughter will be a bit over 5.5 in January. I always thought I'd have kids closer in age, but [insert all the reasons here]. I'm terrified of starting over, but also kind of excited about her getting to be an older big sister--and happy that we got so much time with just her.
And in response to multiple comments above re: AMA, I was considered AMA for my late 2021 pregnancy even though I was still 34, because I would be 35 by my due date. I just turned 35 so I'm *officially* old this time around but other practices may have similar policies re: age at conception vs. age at delivery. That pregnancy unfortunately didn't go to term so I don't know the full ins and outs of what's different with AMA, but I think it's mostly just additional monitoring and testing options--so if it's covered by insurance, I don't think you can go wrong!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 1.15.23 / 5w1d
Baby is the size of a(n): Appleseed!
Team blue/pink/green: Green
Upcoming Appointments: My OB office will call me to schedule an early scan (in week 6 or 7) as soon as they get pre-authorization from my insurance. (They don't typically do appointments here until 11 weeks, and even then it's just a heartbeat check...but I should be cleared for an early scan due to my MC history. Fingers crossed that they call this week!)
How are you feeling?: Completely normal except for on-and-off mildly sore boobs. I'm a little worried, but I keep reminding myself that my symptoms don't typically set in until week 6 or 7.
Rants/Raves: Same as last week--I HATE grading! But I'm almost to the finish line. Also, my daughter turns 5 this week and I'm so excited about her gifts! (bike, helmet, marble run, comic books)
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Italian sausage or really anything that has that cursed, cylinder-like seed/spice in it (fennel?). That spice is a demon that has no place in my life
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday, June 1. Second scan, appointment, and blood work.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. First trimester cramping isn't as bad constantly (but that also worries me 🙄). Also sore boobs and occasional nausea/ vomiting...
Rants/Raves: I was able to take my two sons on a cubscout campout this weekend. I was so happy to make memories, but then our tent flooded with the rain and soaked all of our bedding. 🤣 I've never been so thankful to get home to my own bed!
Questions: None at the moment...
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Bleu cheese/ Bleu cheese dressing... I wanted so badly to love it, I just can't! 🤮
How are you feeling?: tired, a little crampy, a little ragey, a little cry-ey, bloated, nervous about everything being ok. I’m looking forward to my first appt.
Rants/Raves: so annoying how they make us wait til 8+ weeks for our first appt. My first two I was able to be seen pretty early and it made things a little less worrisome. Oh and this is the last week of my quarter (payroll accounting and computerized accounting classes) so yaayyy until I start my next quarter early june I’m taking business law 😫
Questions:
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Oysters. They taste like the beach and feel like boogers.
@sparklingdiamond I am a headache sufferer also. I broke down and took a half of a Tylenol yesterday and this morning. I remember my ob told me to take magnesium supplements my last pregnancy. I don’t think they helped much but I’m going to get some this weekend and try. It’s a struggle.

How are you feeling?: mostly good this week which is making me nervous because I feel like I should be nauseous/vomiting or having more symptoms than just sore boobs and a little fatigue at this point
Rants/Raves: I just want to feel more pregnant
Questions: Anyone else feeling mostly symptom-less at 6 weeks?
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again?
I’m 6 weeks today and also just have sore boobs, maybe some fatigue and reflux. I’m overthinking symptoms haha! But no morning sickness! Definitely questioning if I should be feeling more pregnant!
Hey knottie#s, it looks like there are a couple new people and it's hard to get to know you and tag you with the generic screen names. Please see the pinned instructions here on how to change them:
How are you feeling?: sooooo tired, but okay otherwise
Rants/Raves: this is my fourth baby, but I’m the most impatient so far with this one. All of my appointments seem so far away, and I’m so anxious because I’m 35 now and I’m terrified of complications.
Questions: has anyone over 35 experienced any complications?
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Eel
Upcoming Appointments: none yet! Want to see some darker lines before I call.
How are you feeling?: Nervous, but okay. Early days of pregnancy are such a mindf*ck.
Rants/Raves: Slightly annoyed at being a caboose goose again! My son’s due date was late in the month as well, it’s hard to see everyone else so far ahead when you’re impatient about everything, ha.
Questions: None really. Too early!
GTKY: What is a food you’ve tried that you will never eat again? Anything shellfish related. I love fish, but get outta here with the crustaceans.
