Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
Thankful for non-dairy Ben and Jerry’s, for the summer weather which has arrived early up here, for my calm job, and for the quiet moments relaxing in bed that I know I won’t be getting as much in a few months!!
So thankful for my husband! He is so thoughtful and always goes the extra mile for us. We had thunderstorms with tornado warnings last night and our power was out from 8 P.M. until 5:45 this morning. He was up at 4 A.M. for work and made time to get our generator out of the camper to plug the refrigerator in on the generator so our food wouldn't spoil. He even ran an extra line inside for our internet router and my computer so I could work today. As soon as he had everything set so he could leave for work, our power came back on. He turned down my offers to help telling me to go back to sleep and didn't complain even once.
I am thankful that the rest of my Old Navy order arrived yesterday and I figured out how to make the black leggings school appropriate. As such, I am also thankful for the convertible Lululemon scarf my SIL gave me a couple of years ago - made it look like a tie-skirt and it's covering my workout-legging'd butt I would soooo not have been okay in the belly band jeans today and I am disgustingly comfortable right now.
Pre-pregnancy, I wore slacks to work. I prefer to be business casual for teaching, but... not for the next five weeks, man. Thank you, Old Navy.
I'm thankful for sunshine and nice weather. I'm thankful my sister picked up my wedding rings and I'll get them this weekend. I haven't worn them in about 4 years and I think it makes my husband sad, so I'm excited to surprise him when I come back home with them on.
I'm thankful for a chiropractor appt in the morning. And taking more time off than needed for it so I can pack a couple boxes.
I'm thankful for the local mother's group I found recently. All of my friends/family are either child-free by choice, or have 8+ year olds, so I wanted to try to find some folks with young kids, or some other folks expecting kids around the same time as me. Everyone was really nice and had helpful advice and input, and one of the women had the car seat I've been thinking about. She let me take a look at it and now I'm sure it's the right one for us. She also handed me her baby for a minute, which was slightly terrifying as it has been years since I held a young baby! I had kind of a funny moment of realizing that I'm going to have to get used to it again, in just a few months.
First time mom-to-be, due 9/25/22
Some complicated chromosomal stuff going on - our fingers are crossed, but this may not go according to plan!
So thankful to see my parents again! They arrived last night. Also thankful my daughter isn't "slow to warm". She wanted to sit with my dad right away which means a lot to me. It'd be understandable if she was shy at first but I think I'd be a bit sad that she didn't "know" my parents.
@babywiik Isn't that the best feeling? We don't see my dad too often, but over the past year or so, she has taken right to him when she does see him, and I know it makes his heart so happy!
