6w scan measuring 5.5 weeks

I went for an early scan today due to previous ectopic and "geriatric age" (40).

Good news: it's not ectopic! 🥳
Less good news: based off lmp I'm 6 weeks exactly today (I also know I Od on cd15) but apparently I'm measuring at 5 and a half weeks. This coupled with the fact that the few symptoms I had have completely disappeared, has me concerned... My doc wants me to come in again next Thursday... That feels like EONS away.

Anyone have anything similar? What was the outcome? Please feel free to share good and bad.

    Similar feeling. Based on lmp and when I got my positive, I should be atleast 7 weeks. Based on hcg and ultrasound today, they say 5 wks 6 days but there was a heart beat of 99bpm. Check back in 10 days to ensure growth. I have zero symptoms of pregnancy and did have some light bleeding last week. I’m sick to my stomach with nerves but dates are always estimates. Just gotta stay busy next ten days. Good luck to you.

    My bean was 5 days behind expected. + or - 5 days in measurement at this early stage is normal when a millimeter makes the difference of a day and humans are doing the measuring. The next visit will check to make sure baby is growing at the correct rate.

    Ultrasounds that early should have a + or - range of a few days. Five days difference is very reasonable this early. Think of it like height or weight. An average adult female may be 5’6”, but some are taller, some shorter. It’s just a range and unless your doctor says something, nothing to worry about!

    I just had my first ultrasound, I should be 8 weeks but I measured 6 weeks and the dr couldn’t see a heartbeat. Has me super nervous, but I go back tomorrow. Hoping for good news. Has anyone had anything similar happen?

    This just happened to me on Friday. Thought I was 8w1d but said I was measuring 6w and couldn’t see heartbeat. They took blood Friday and more this morning. They’re supposed to call me with my results by tomorrow. I go back again on the 17th for another ultrasound. Praying there is a tiny heartbeat for both of us.

    Hi Ladies. I've been stressing a bit as all of my symptoms disappeared last week and the fact that my 6 week scan measured 5.5w. So I went for an hcg test today, and my numbers only doubled in 7 days! From 14700 on 2 May to 30100 on 10 May 😔

    I know that doubling slows down once hcg hits 6000, but the average is 4 days... I can't help but feel like this pregnancy isn't going to last.

    I have the follow up scan on Thursday and I'm vascilating between holding on to hope and preparing for the worst.

    Has this happened to anyone? What was the outcome? Good or bad?
