Group Status - Part 3

Although Facebook has a slight advantage, the balance between those wanting the Bump and those wanting Facebook for the private group is pretty even, and there are multiple people who want both. Although I'm not the be-all end-all of decisions, I think that it may make sense to create private groups in both settings, and people can join one or both based on their preference.

So the next question becomes, who will be the moderators in each forum? We'll need 2-4 moderators for each forum, which can be the same people or different people. This part isn't really "poll" friendly, so please answer the following questions:

1) Are you interested in being a forum moderator? If so, for which platform, or both?
2) Do you want to nominate anyone(s) as a moderator? If so, for which platform, or both?

1. I feel being a moderator for this group will be fairly easy, we haven't had any claws drawn yet, so I'd volunteer for either platform.

I will say that I hope we ultimately all end up on one platform. Perhaps we have a bit of a trial period, and after a certain amount of time, we vote again to see if we go solely FB or solely Bump. If we keep the two platforms long term, I will engage in both, so I can interact with everyone, but definitely not the ideal!

All that being said, I nominate: @kboydbowman @trapperkeeper87 @jhysmath @babywiik @wiseh (I'm sure I'm forgetting some of our more active members, but those are the people who jump out to me at the moment!)

I agree with the nominations mentioned so far. @pangolindrome has also been fairly active, too. If we have enough folks willing to moderate, I'd suggest not having 100% overlap between the two platforms. If some of our moderators get less active over time, it would be ideal not to have that cause problems on both platforms.

I’m happy to moderate Facebook BUT I am in a different time zone to most of you so not sure how efficient it would be having me.

Similar to @bigworldlittleg I hope we all end up on platform but will also contribute as much as I can on both (pending bump being glitchy not having the app)

While I appreciate the nomination 💕 I don’t think ill have time to consistently moderate with 2 jobs and a baby 😊. I’ll join both groups though and see which one works better for me. I think I might actually delete my Facebook after baby. It’s so much of a time suck for me.

Nominations sound good to me! I start my new job soon so will have even less time than I do now. I do also agree one forum would be preferable over trying two- I think I voted for FB but I'm open to wherever everyone wants to go.

I know we talked about moving to a private group at the end of May. There are at least 2 moms here who have a higher likelihood of early babies. Would those moms, plus any others be more comfortable being on a private site sooner than later in case a baby comes sooner than planned? So far there are 7 nominees, so maybe we'd need some overlap between a private bump and Facebook? We definitely don't need to rush into the move all at once but maybe have some solid plans in place for when the move will happen and what exactly will happen so everyone can make a decision about where they'll go, or if they'll stay here on moving day.
