  With my 1st pregnancy, I didn't get an ultrasound until the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. I was under 35 and knew when I ovulated so we didn't need to do it for dating. At your June 9 appt, you should be able to hear baby's heart beat on Doppler which is really reassuring. This pregnancy I had an early ultrasound bc I'm almost 39 (makes me higher risk), I spot a lot around my period (dating accuracy), and I had a previous loss. I think different practices handle ultrasounds very differently and it also depends on coding and what your insurance would cover.

  I'm also pregnant with my firsy. My doctor said their practice is to wait until 8 weeks, so my first US is next Wednesday and I can't wait!

  I’m pregnant with my first too and felt the same way when scheduling my appointment! I’m currently 9w5d and have my first ultrasound this week when I’ll be 10w3d! It’s been soo hard to wait for the appointment and I panicked that it was so late into the first trimester too! You aren’t the only one with a late initial ultrasound, if that makes you feel better  
  
  A silver lining to waiting so long for the ultrasound is that in “Expecting Better” there’s a chart showing that if everything looks good at that ultrasound at 10 weeks or later, your risk of miscarriage is under 3%! That has given me peace of mind and hopefully helps you too. Hang in there!

  My coworker is also pregnant and got her first ultrasound at 6 weeks, meanwhile my appointment isn’t until 8w5d. I’m going stir crazy waiting, hoping and praying that there will be something to look at when the appointment arrives.
