December 2022 Moms

35+ first time mamas

Just wondering how many of us geriatric moms there are out here. :D I’ll be 39 this summer and I’m surrounded by coworkers all younger than me with multiple kids! I can’t wait until the first trimester is over so I can stop hiding. Went through 2 MCs and finally made it to 8 weeks. I did get Covid, though, so extra nervous now - and upset because I got it at work.

Anyways, figured I’d start a thread for us to share whatever thoughts are going through our minds!

I'm 40 and while this is my second pregnancy, it would be my first baby if all goes well. Like Aclark,  I'm a total bundle of nerves and worry. I have my first scan at 5w5/6d tomorrow to rule out ectopic. I'm not holding out too much hope that I'll see anything exciting. Ill be happy to see a sac and yolk in the right place,  although my HCG was 15000 at 24dpo yesterday, so maybe I'll see the heart flutter?🤞
  • Glad to hear you’re progressing alright after Covid! Definitely scared me. I got the monoclonal antibody therapy, also nervous doing that but was recommended to me.

Same, I have to remember nausea is a good thing even if it’s terrible. B6 vitamins daily made it much better for me.
  • Hi all! I’m 35 and pregnant with my first. I’m currently 8w2d. Very nervous and excited! Wish I could meet people around my area who are in the same boat as me, I def feel like I’m older than most I know.
  • Hi! I’m also 35 and pregnant with our first. I’m 7 weeks today and very excited and hopeful that everything will continue to go ok mixed with being nervous.

Good to know I’m in good company! I’m 37 and this is my second. My daughter will be 12 this summer so it does kinda feel like starting from scratch lol. I also an a bundle of nerves and freak out over everything. Had 2MCs, but this is the farthest I have gotten at 10wks tomorrow, so hoping that’s a good sign
  • 38 and will be 39 by the time the baby is here. First time Mom. We did IVF just as Covid was starting in 2020, so froze all of our embryos. So crazy to think the embryo was already 2 years old by the time we implanted it!
  • Will be 40 by the time baby is here and it's my first! I still feel super young at heart so it's weird that I'm supposed to be "geriatric" in this context lol.

I’m 37 and this is my first pregnancy that has felt good. We’ve been trying for a few years and have lost a couple along the way. I’m 7.5 weeks today.
I feel awful but to me that feels like a good thing. My last pregnancies didn't have many symptoms. This time I’m Constipated, exhausted, headaches…and yeah…the boobs🥺
Im glad to find you girls! Almost all my friends have had their kids and are done now so I’m really late to the game here. So it’s nice to find you pregnant elder millennials here!

  • Had my first at 35! I turn 38 Dec 5 and my due date is 10 days later. Don’t let the geriatric pregnancy things scare you
  • Hi! I’m 39 and almost 11 weeks pregnant with our first. We had a miscarriage in 2020, so I am super nervous about everything. We had an ultrasound at 10 weeks and everything looked great. Now waiting on the genetic testing and hoping the next 3.5 weeks until our next appointment flies by!
  • 36 here. First time mom with fraternal twins.
  • Hello, fellow elder moms to be!  :D
We are in this! I just hit 9 weeks today at a spritely age of 38 - will be 39 by due date. This would be our first baby. Just grateful that our third IUI took and work to calm myself every day knowing I've done all I can to be healthy for this pregnancy. I bet we all worked hard to get where we are. Sending much love to you all.
  • Hello elder millennial mom squad! Nice to meet all of you, and it's good to not feel alone (I'm the last one of my group of friends to have kids). I'm 37 and due 12/30 with my first. We did IVF and it's been a long road to get here; so grateful! I think in your late 30s you've already done all the fun things, so it's a good time to be a mom. Sending you all love and hoping we can continue to connect through our pregnancies!
  • Hi all! I'm 36 and 9 - 12 weeks pregnant with my first. Couldn't get an ultrasound appointment before June 10, so I'm a little nervous... First doctor's appointment this week tho, so we'll see... In my mind it doesn't feel like I'm pregnant yet, but my belly definitely tells me I am haha! Have you gained weight in the first semester? How are you feeling?
  • I feel the same! It's hard to wrap my head around and I'm still sorta in disbelief. Yup have gained weight, or inches!  9 weeks and had to do the hair tie trick to make my pants comfortable today.
  • Hi all, I´m 39, will be 40 when my baby boy arrives. Don´t feel even close to 40, lead a healthy lifestyle so i think my boy chose a good timing :)
This is my first pregnancy, feeling super excited and same amount nervous! But also ready. I started feeling my body change finally, baby bump is popping out. At 18+6 I am now planning a shopping trip for looser clothes, starting not to fit into most of my office stuff.
The most challenging for me is to start developing new routines and accept that I cannot work as much as I used to or that I need to eat small portions more often or otherwise I get stomach pains.

Congrats to you all beautiful mamas, our babies will keep us younger for longer ;) I hope you all are enjoying the little kicks already!
