@fantasyflyte enjoy your break after this week!

@lilswed I'm with you on not feeling pg some days, it's strange.

@Gingermom15 yay for feeling good and yay for coffee. Boo for heartburn.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11.16 / 12w today

    FTM/STM/TTM+: #4

Upcoming Appointments or Results: routine appt Monday +blood draw for genetic screening.

How are you feeling?: Pretty awful really. I can only eat like 2 bites of anything before I get nauseous, unless it's 10pm, then I eat the whole bag of Cheetos and can't sleep all night.

Rants/Raves: I didn't mean to ghost y'all, I swear, but April was a month. 3 weeks ago my almost 5 year old brought came home from Pre-K with covid, and all 5 of us got it, in a staggered series. Thankfully all our symptoms were mild, but between first tri fatigue and nausea and losing my sense of smell, it was all I could do to read all the posts, but I didn't have the energy to engage. Then last week, just as I was starting to recover, I was rear-ended with the little boys in the car. We're all fine, it was a minor accident, but the other driver is uninsured, so we're $5k out of pocket to fix it, and I tense up 2x a day when I have to drop-off and pick-up DD from Pre-K.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: NIPT came back all normal and female! Next appointment is on the 16th

How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty ok. Extremely bloated and gassy, and I can only eat a little bit at a time. Working on snacking through the day, but it's not always easy with my job.

Rants/Raves: I recently changed my schedule at work to come in later, and the extra sleep has helped tremendously with the exhaustion! Who'd have thought?! 🤪

Questions: None that I can think of

Upcoming Appointments or Results: I have a meet the OB phone call next Thursday and then my first appointment the next week. This feels so late compared to everyone else, but all the OBs in my area wanted to wait until close to the end of the first trimester.

How are you feeling?: For the most part I’m feeling a lot better. Every once in a while I’m having a really severe bout of nausea, but I’m able to head it off with medicine. The exhaustion is terrible still though!

    Rants/Raves:
Raves: My primary care doctor has been so supportive and so willing to step in while I wait to meet with an OB. I’ve been seeing him forever so it feels nice to have someone who knows me be so supportive! Also, I made it a whole week by myself while my husband was out of town. I was worried because I’ve been relying so heavily on him lately, but I did it!
Rant: I got a gnarly cold a week ago and it’s been miserable. I’ve been testing daily (I am a teacher) and it isn’t Covid, but that on top of general pregnancy stuff is so draining.

Questions: Is anyone else freaking out as their symptoms lessen? My breast tenderness going away and less nausea makes me wonder some times if everything is okay. Just wondering if anyone else as felt the same.
  • @sejica I am so sorry that things have been so tough lately! I’m hoping for some more relaxing weeks ahead for you!
  • @melissacollins28 it's very normal where I live for them not to see you until ~12 weeks either. Moms who move here from other places get very flustered about it, but it's just what they do

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Next Appt is 5/23 and I’m getting a bunch of blood test results back each day (took 6 tests last week). Waiting on genetics to come back still.

How are you feeling?: Mild headaches are starting. I just got over a stomach bug last week so my stomach is recovering from that. My bloating at night has felt pretty severe. I’m very uncomfortable going to sleep. Trying to eat earlier each night this week to see if that helps.

Rants/Raves: All the needles were not fun last week, but I’m thankful to have all of my early pregnancy tests out of the way. The doctor gave me the paperwork to get the glucose test done with the rest of my tests which seems so early so I’m afraid I’ll have to retake it later on? Not sure why they gave it to me before 20 weeks?

Questions: I read that people usually find out the gender around 20 weeks if you don’t seek out the gender early or have to get testing done which would reveal the gender. At my doctors I don’t have another in-person appointment until 24-28 weeks. Hoping I don’t have to wait that long to find out. Does anyone else have an appointment schedule with that long of a wait time?
  • @sburgh23 if you're overweight or have a family history of diabetes they usually have you do the glucose test twice - once around 13 weeks and once around 28 weeks.
You'll have the anatomy scan at around 20 weeks, and if the tech doesn't tell you the gender there (they're not legally allowed to here, although they'll show you on the screen) then normally you can call the office the next day and they'll tell you. It does sound like your office is still running on covid procedures because that's how my last pregnancy went, with long periods in between my in person appointments.

  • @sburgh23 Depending on the type of genetic testing you had done, you may get gender results from that. NIPT testing generally includes gender information if you want to find out ahead of your anatomy scan. And the glucose testing is done twice for people at higher risk (BMI over 30, family history of diabetes, and in some cases is even done if you are AMA). I had my early glucose testing done at 13 weeks and will need to re-test again at 28.
