Preventing extreme weight gain during pregnancy

I’m 7 weeks pregnant with my 4th. I gained 60lbs my last pregnancy and just got absolutely huge. It took me going vegan and running everyday to get my weight and belly down. I was still 10lbs heavier than my pre baby #3 weight when I got pregnant with #4. My belly is already poking out SO much- partially due to it never really going all the way down from my last pregnancy and partially due to bloating (I’m guessing??). I’m wondering if there’s any way to get ahead of this or if it’s just impending doom 😅😅

  • I’m keeping a food journal to hold myself accountable & exercising. Good luck

  • O thank god! I already have a right little belly and I know they say I can't be showing at 8 weeks but I've already had to buy bigger trousers lol. I had a really terrible start and was largely bed bound so it's probably also a lack of moving and just eating a lot of rubbish food. I'm normally totally into salads and all the good stuff but atm it's turning my stomach! I've also developed a great double chin already so think I'm going to be screwed 🙄. I'm waiting till I am generally feeling better and then I'll have the energy to exercise more and eat well. Right now it's all just hard! Glad to have an ally 😊

I unbuttoned my pants the minute I got in my car after work today. I'm only at 8 weeks but can definitely see growth, I keep telling myself its just gas. I was running 3x per week before my BFP and then dropped to walk/jog intervals but don't think it's helping as much as I want it to. I blame my AM bagel for the gain but can't give it up as I swear that's what keeps the naseau away.

I’m worried about this too. I am starting out over weight so there’s that. Food is so hit or miss for me right now and I’m exhausted all the time. Hoping 2nd tri will be better and I can eat better and walk more

I think I may have to get on the food journal tip as well. I gained 50 lbs my first pregnancy but it eas much easier to lose weight at 31 than it will be at 38   :s

I feel this deeeeeply. Usually I love healthful foods, but none of them sound remotely good right now—if not outright nauseating. I’m not usually a gluten and simple starch eater, but the only safe foods have been plain quesadillas, saltines, rice, scrambled egg on toast, and bean burritos…NONE of which I would normally eat. At this rate I’ll look like I’m 9 months by week 12! That said, I truly can’t do anything about it right now, these are the only food that don’t totally turn my stomach 🤷🏻‍♀️
