First scan dating 2 weeks behind

Hi,

I’m looking for some advice. Today I went for an early scan after some brown spotting for over a week. I have two children already and had the same brown spotting with my youngest and the pregnancy was fine.

At the scan today I estimated I was 8 weeks + due to having my last lmp at the end of Feb. The sonographer said the baby was measuring at 6 weeks as was the sac. She suggested my dates could be off and to come back in two weeks.

I didn’t feel my dates could be off as I know when i conceived and had a positive pregnancy test on 27th March.

Any advice or ladies in a similar situation?.

    Hi Rachel, 

    I had the exact same experience in February. I would ask to go back after 1 week not 2. I had to wait 1 week and it was the hardest most confusing time of my life I couldn’t imagine going 2 weeks. Unfortunately for me it did turn out to be a blighted ovum. I hope your outcome is different. I knew for sure my dates were not off so as soon as we left the 1st ultrasound I started grieving because I knew in my heart that it wasn’t possible to be 2 weeks behind without there being a problem. I’m very sorry you’re going through this it’s so unfair. I just had another positive test this morning and I’m paralyzed with fear that it will happen again. Here’s to hoping for us both <3
