Upcoming Appointments or Results: May 6 for routine appointment.
How are you feeling?: so tired but able to eat mostly normal now unless it’s the smell of cooking meat or brewing coffee 👎
Rants/Raves: I feel like my house is in shambles. It’s never so cluttered as it is now. Folding one load of laundry wipes me out. My husband has been picking up a lot of slack where he can but working nights he can only do so much. I can’t wait for that second trimester energy.
@Gingermom15 yay eating! I feel you on the house stuff. I'm hoping with my semester ending soon, that I'll have more energy to help organize things so that my poor husband isn't stuck with ALL the household chores anymore.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: NIPT draw/NT scan May 10
How are you feeling?: not bad, had a good few days and then today the nausea is back a bit. That may also be some minor nerves related to a math exam I have tonight.
Rants/Raves: We told my husband's siblings yesterday, so now everyone who we wanted to tell face-to-face knows! It feels good to not be carrying around the secret anymore. Not planning to announce on social media until we get the NIPT results back, but the most important people know now, so if the grapevine spreads I don't mind. Excited because the baby actually looked like a baby at my OB appointment a few days ago instead of a blob, lol.
Questions: nothing I can really think of at the moment, just hanging in there.
Appt: Have my first meeting with the OB this week to talk through things and hopefully get the HB on Doppler- might be too early
Feeling: had a scare last week - so had an ultrasound and saw the little one wave and have a heartbeat- been so nervous this pregnancy and that gave me so much hope- FYI was never told that the placenta implanting could lead to bleeding and cramping and loss of symptoms- good days and bad with nausea- still soooooo tired
Rants/Raves: how I’m feeling I suppose would also be my rant/rave.
Questions: in the process of deciding if we want to do testing- anyone done questnatal? Had high hcg numbers that can indicate Down syndrome- but also have heart defects in the family so we will be seeing MFM throughout this pregnancy.
Upcoming appointment: 5/12 Michael translucency screening and ultrasound
how I’m feeling: bloated, constipated, fat. This doesn’t look like a baby bump I am just FULL of poop and gas. Please someone tell me what kind of tricks are helping you. I consume quite a bit of fiber, exercise, drink water and now I’m taking colace but it’s so early and I’m already getting hemorrhoids and I just want my normal poop schedule back! 😂😭
how I’m feeling basically is a rant lol can anyone shed some light on how to feel better? It’s killing me.
@dzapp use a stool when you're on the toilet to raise your legs so you're closer to a squat. Also if you feel it's right there and you just can't get it out, sometimes putting some pressure on your perineum (from the vaginal side push back towards the colon) can give just enough extra oomph to help you out. I worked with little old ladies for a long time who got very constipated sometimes ^^;

Upcoming Appointments or Results: May 23 is my second appointment. Need to get 7 tests/screenings done in the next few weeks so trying to schedule those now.
How are you feeling?: People will hate me for this, but I have felt pretty normal this whole time. I have a lot of symptoms, but they are the easy ones. I don’t have nausea or aversions. I have extremely uncomfortable bloating or I’m starving - there’s no in between. Lots of gas (sorry husband). Super tired all the time, sore breasts, but that’s calming down a bit. I’m starting to sleep terribly due to needing to use the restroom at night multiple times and that’s not fun.
Rants/Raves: So many tests and screenings!! Not looking forward to all this blood work. So happy to have finally had my first appointment and baby is healthy.
Questions: Need some baby announcement ideas without an ultrasound! In my area you don’t get a photo until 20w.
@dzapp colace is not recommended for constipation, only prevention. Swap it out for Senna until you feel like you’ve had a full bowel movement, but for no more than a week. Or you can use something like miralax but don’t use with colace with it.
If you prefer not to use a laxative, 8 oz warm prune juice with a tablespoon of melted butter works like a charm. It’s sounds super gross and it is, but it never fails to get my post op patients pooping again! If you do this, drink it really fast, follow with a glass of water and go for a walk.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Finally was able to get some appointments with OBs. I have a “Meet the Doctor” visit next week and then two different appointments the week after. Excited to finally get a little more than my confirmation of pregnancy and a dating ultrasound!
How are you feeling?: The last 3 days or so have been better as far as nausea goes. Unless I am super hungry it has been pretty mild. Still having sore breasts and bloating and this week the need to pee in the middle of the night has definitely increased! Emotionally I am feeling a little better and less defeated now that the nausea isn’t preventing me from doing daily tasks.
Rants/Raves: My rave is getting in with two OBs and being so excited to meet them! I also have to rave about my husband. He has been so good at helping me out as I struggle and I am so grateful for his care and support.
Questions: Has anyone else had a bunch of unsolicited advice from the people who know? I announced it at work yesterday (I’m a teacher) because the nausea has made me have to leave multiple times and I was tired of people not knowing why. By the end of the day I had SO MANY people come to tell me all their stories and advice. I’m mostly tired of hearing people say they loved being pregnant and talking about how they never felt that sick because so far it’s been so hard!
@Gingermom15 I may need to make note of that prune juice and butter idea in case I need another C-section. I was so scared to go afterwards. It was 3 or 4 days before I did.
@ashnicell definitely! I’m lactose intolerant so luckily for me a milkshake did the trick after both of my c sections 🤣 prune juice and butter is the oldest special recipe in the book. Our surgeons even have us try it before laxatives sometimes
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Waiting on the results of our NIPT!
How are you feeling?: Nausea is (hopefully!) starting to subside, starting to have lower back/hip pain, and I feel like I might be showing just a little bit (hubby agrees), which is exciting!
Rants/Raves: I'm just generally very over this trimester, but thank goodness for Zofran! Feeling much more human since my OB gave me the green light to take it.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: just went for my first appointment with my midwife today. Heard babies heartbeat for the first time (165). Did NIPT last week & midwife will call with the results when she gets them. Had first ultrasound at 9 weeks & everything looked good.
How are you feeling?: TIRED, slightly nauseous, so constipated. Excited for gender results to come back from my NIPT.
Rants/Raves: I LOVE my midwife. She’s so sweet. Hubby has been a great support & picking up the slack while I nap almost 24/7 lol.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: I had my second OB appointment and everything looks good! I had an episode of brown spotting (like I from my SCH) this week so doc did another ultrasound and got to see my babies!
How are you feeling?: a lot better this week then last. I feel like my energy is up, and my nausea has subsided to an occasion gag
Rants/Raves: happy to have had another ultrasound and see that all is good, and happy that I’m starting to feel better!
@Gingermom15 oh man that is a horrifying combo but I will give it a shot. I feel like I’ve talked about poop more in the last 4 weeks than I have in my entire life.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: (im)patiently waiting 2 more weeks for my NT at 13w0d. Wish it was sooner because I haven't had an US since 7w and I just want to know baby is alive and well. I've asked if I can get NIPT, waiting for response
How are you feeling?: overall pretty good, just tired. Nipple tenderness has improved and so has nausea. It wasn't too bad to begin with. Super bloated and pooping sucks
Rants/Raves: rant: really wishing my appt was sooner as we are awaiting the outcome before we announce to anyone! And I wanted to go to the baby show with my mom but it's before my test so not doing it. Rave: happy the weather is outside and I'm exercising again!
Questions: for athletic build/slim FTM, when did you start showing? And does anyone feel their uterus yet?
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Awaiting results from genetic screen - can’t wait to find out the gender to limit the name choosing game!
How are you feeling?: More tired and cranky than I ever have in my life. The nausea is a constant battle- always starting the day strong with small snacks but feel so full by the evening which makes it worse. Diclegis has been a life saver - but of course makes me even more tired. Afternoon naps help - but I just feel so inadequate with getting day to day responsibilities accomplished.
Rants/Raves: How are pregnant women in our first trimesters just walking around with the same expectations for life as everyone else? Just work full time, keep up with daily chores/meals, attend all mandatory social events and be loving for our partners? All while dashing quickly to puke and dragging our dead tired, sore bodies around? Those of you with kids already taking care of them and doing this are my only inspiration- you’re all super heroes in my book! I think all pregnant women should be allowed a 2 hour lunch break for siesta daily at work - if we can just nap, we might actually accomplish something after lunch.
Good luck to all you mamas - hope you’re all napping when you can!
@kmell182 I don’t keep up with daily chores, I do the bare minimum and my husband does the rest. I doordash a lot, don’t attend any events I’m not getting paid for, if I’m not feeling well my husband just goes without. It’s temporary. I am afraid my kids are becoming too accustomed to doordash and more screen time than usual though lol
Re: Weekly Check In for DD 11/16-11/23 (week of 4/25)
@fantasyflyte glad you are feeling better!

Rants/Raves: how I’m feeling I suppose would also be my rant/rave.
