Re: Weekly Check In for DD 11/1-11/8 (week of 4/25)

  • Est due date November 2nd. 12 weeks, 5 days today! FTM, feeling much better than I was a few weeks ago, just some fatigue and occasional headaches for the most part. We find out the gender in a little over 3 weeks, excited to see baby again then!

    Upcoming Appointments or Results:
I have an appointment next month to transfer my care to a birthing center! Just got my genetic testing back and everything came back negative/low risk! Plus, we’re having a boy! DH may be disappointed that he didn’t the girl he was wishing for lol, but I’m excited!

    How are you feeling?:
I feel pretty good. Last night was my first night of poor sleep. Nausea creeps up every now and then, but I still haven’t puked. Yay!

    Rants/Raves:
I wish ultrasounds occurred more often (that insurance covered). Thankfully, my fetal heart Doppler should be shipped soon.

    Questions:
What are y’all doing for headaches, besides Tylenol?

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Some labs on Wednesday

    How are you feeling?: betterish...fx

Rants/Raves: DH is coming home today!  It has been a long week!

Questions:  Headaches are so hard!  I actually never took anything for them (too paranoid), but just tried to keep myself distracted.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Nov 5 so 12+2

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: bloodwork tomorrow for genetic screening tests and second prenatal check up is scheduled for May 18th

How are you feeling?: good! Still really tired and I get dizzy/light headed easily but nothing that isn’t easily manageable

Rants/Raves: I wish there were more appointments/ultrasounds. I haven’t seen baby since 8 weeks and I’ve yet to have a chance to hear the heartbeat. It’s so hard trusting that everything is okay when you have no way of knowing!

Questions: has anyone else announced yet? I told work and extended family today, social media will probably find out later this week

    Upcoming Appointments or Results:
We got our NIPT results. Low risk for everything and it's a girl! I have a dd and ds and in a way, my heart has gotten a little extra bigger for my ds 💕

    How are you feeling?:
Worlds better. Empty stomach now mostly feels hungry as opposed to nauseous. The heads though. Woof.

    Rants/Raves:
This warmer weather has me so ready for summertime!

    Questions:
    No questions, but...
@bribrithomas I take Tylenol if I have no other options. If I can and can lay down, closing my eyes for a really quick nap helps. (I laughed a little typing that....I might be delusional). Chugging water sometimes helps too.

@littlem@littlemarshmallow we told family and close friends pretty early on. I told my administration and students 2 weeks ago. I actually think I want to keep this pregnancy off social media and pull a "surprise!" in 6 months.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: 14-week ultrasound next Wednesday!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, definitely better than nausea central a few weeks ago. Just tired, headaches/dizzy, and now I have to pee all the time (he must be nestled close to my bladder). I had a rough night sleep last night so feel crummy today - the last week, I’ve been waking up at 3am to go to the bathroom & then can’t go back to sleep, going to try to hold off on fluids after dinner tonight 🤞

Rants/Raves: Just so grateful how everything is going so far. I had a MMC last year, so the first 12 weeks were rough with anxiety, but I’m finally starting to feel the wind in my sails & getting excited ☺️ We got our NIPT results back & it’s a healthy baby boy, so we’ve already ruled out what happened last time. My OBGYN has been absolutely wonderful & let me have ultrasounds every two weeks, so shout out to her 💕 All of his ultrasounds have been spot-on/perfect, so definitely seeing answered prayers.

Questions: What’s your tummy supposed to feel like around now? I have this bloated foopa feeling below my belly button now that does not go away, is that the baby? Have no clue & am in denial, haha.
  • @autumnchase1122 isn't it so nice when you can start breathing a little easier? I had a MMC with my first, then 2 successful pregnancies and yet this go around, I still felt the same anxiety creep in most of the first trimester. But I'm with you on starting to feel more at ease! As far as what your belly feels like...it's different for everyone, but I usually go by the firmness. It'll start right above your pubic bone and creep it's way up. If it's squishy, it's probably bloat (which is where I'm at!). BUT, I'm in all the maternity clothes because I LOOK much further along than I am (again, not firm....just smoosh) but no one is rubbing this belly anytime soon and so I'm just rolling with it 😎
  • @mali0902 Aw, thanks so much for sharing! ☺️ We want three kids, so that’s so great to hear. I’ve had thoughts where I wonder if I’ll have a 50/50 chance of it happening every time, and wondering if I’ll have to endure more losses to get all my babies, but hopefully not.
  • @mali0902 oh that’s exciting! My students and staff were very surprised and excited for me :)
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  November 1-ish

    FTM/STM/TTM+: second time mom

Upcoming Appointments or Results: just got NIPT results. All looks good for the baby girl!  I have a 16 month old boy now so I’m happy to have a baby sister!

How are you feeling?: pretty ok physically. Usually not great emotionally.  I have’t had much morning sickness but my lower back sacrum area always hurts so bad. It was like that with my last pregnancy. Starting right away but especially at the end. So I got myself out to a yoga class today and it was great!   I got a 4 class pass so I have to go at least 4 times before o get to big. And it’s kid a hard so I’ll have to practice at home.   I’m hoping this will help my back and my mood.

    Questions:
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/6, 12w1d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: ftm

Upcoming Appointments or Results: next Monday I have my second ultrasound, I’m really looking forward to it and managed to keep my self from doing any unnecessary extra ultrasounds

How are you feeling?: I think maybe my symptoms are starting to calm? But it’s hard to tell as I’ve been pretty on and off anyway.

Rants/Raves: I got really into finding free baby stuff on facebook this week. So far I got a Chicco bravo stroller and a swing

Questions: I read that some women can start to feel their uterus this week with their hands, I can’t feel mine yet, but is anyone else able to?

@littlemarshmallow I told my family earlier on and people work last week.
  • @autumnchase1122 if you do happen to have another loss in the future *knock on wood* make sure you start pushing for testing after that one. Most providers wait until the 3rd loss, but if you push, they will do it after the 2nd

Upcoming Appointments or Results: 2nd prenatal, NIPT

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling so good that I have to question if I'm even pregnant

Rants/Raves: I'm tired of people questioning if and when I'm going to cook and when I plan to straighten up the house. How about you do it?? Then it'll definitely be done!

Questions: How can I stop being so paranoid about birth defects and anything else that can go wrong?! I'm considered AMA at 42 and I'm worried as heck and reading makes it no better.
  • edited April 2022
@jayc21 not being paranoid about those things is hard.  The NIPT results will help, and if they do the Nucotranslucency ultrasound that will help too, and then when you do the anatomy scan it will help some more.
most birth  defect’s are very rare so it’s unlikely that your baby will have any. Don’t watch too many baby Tik tok videos and Instagram reels, take care of your body, don’t do a bunch of drugs and drink alcohol, don’t touch any rogaine or acne pills, wear gloves if you have to change the cat litter or dig in the garden.

Don’t worry too much about your age. I’ve known several people to have beautiful healthy babies in their forties

Upcoming Appointments or Results: My second OB Appt is a week from today and I'll have my early glucose screening.

How are you feeling?: My nausea comes and goes now. I'll have a couple good days followed by a really rough day. I'm still absolutely exhausted. I'm really hoping for a second trimester energy boost.

Rants/Raves: Rant - none. Raves - I picked up some blueberry bread from a local bakery yesterday and it is SOOOOO good! I could eat the whole loaf. And on that note, my appetite is definitely back to normal.

    Questions: none right now

Upcoming Appointments or Results: I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow.

How are you feeling?: I feel a lot better this week! I've been having off and on headaches and generally kind of cranky, but I've been way less nauseous. Full disclosure, I've lost a considerable amount of weight in the last 2 weeks and I'm nervous to go to the doctor tomorrow--I've been in treatment for an ED for a year and I know my doctor will be concerned. I just can't eat! I promise 😂

Rants/Raves: Honestly, being able to buy all the girl clothes I envied when I had my son has been really soothing. Trying not to go overboard because I know my friends and family will probably also buy clothes!
  • @ashnicell are you doing an early glucose test because you had GD last time?

@michellelynn6 I just wanted to say that I appreciate how you bolded the sections of your response 😍
  • @mali0902 No. I didn't have GD last time. I have to do early testing because my mom is diabetic and my BMI is over 30, so I'm considered high risk.
  • @ashnicell gotcha. Didn't mean to pry! I had GD with my last pregnancy but not with my first. I'm holding out hope that I'll dodge it this time, but my Dr doesn't think that's likely. They didn't mention an early glucose test, so I was curious when you had mentioned it. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks so much for this! Sometimes I'm afraid to even post because some of the ladies on this blog can be not so nice but I appreciate the supportive, understanding moms like you! I want to go in the garden but won't. My test for toxoplasmosis came back positive and I've had a 2nd so I'm waiting for results from that. I don't even know how to smoke a cigarette so drugs are out of any question and I put my wine glasses up! Sometimes we just need a little reassurance. ❤️
