Re: GTKY 4/19

  • According to my husband, leaving cabinet doors open 😂😂 I swear I close them!

  • @laj0217 I'm an offender there too, my husband gets so angry about it.

I would say my worst bad habit is not putting away laundry. I'll wash it, dry it, fold it, but then it lives in baskets forever. I hate putting it away.
  • @jhysmath that’s my whole kitchen table right now! At least 4 baskets of laundry. My husbands right there with me on that one, though, so he doesn’t complain about it all lol.
  • @jhysmath
I'm pretty bad about that, too, except mine sits in the basket unfolded.

  • @laj0217
My husband is a neat freak and hates the baskets of laundry. Laundry is also the one chore he hates the most so he told me he'd make a deal with me and do the cleaning up of the kitchen if I handle the laundry. I don't mind folding as long as the toddler doesn't destroy it while I'm folding, I find it actually relaxing. I hate putting it away and he's getting frustrated with the 3 baskets I have going of clothes, one for me and each kid. And then the basket of socks because I hate matching socks.
  • @jhysmath are any of the kids old enough to help? We’re in the process of teaching the 7 y/o.
  • @laj0217 the 1 year old likes to shake out the clothes after folded. The 3 year old were working on getting her to put away her clothes. I struggle with the fact she just puts them in the drawer and they don't go in so you can see all of them. We've got to give her a couple more years.
  • @jhysmath yep definitely at a more challenging chore age!! Good luck lol. Clean is clean and a basket is totally accessible 😂
  • My bad habits are: biting my nails, spending too much on Amazon, and continuing to watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette every season.
  • My my annoying habit is that I leave my phone EVERYWHERE. I’ll stop paying attention and put it in the oddest places. I had to sprint off the airplane just before takeoff on the way to our honeymoon because I left my phone on the counter at the gate while we were waiting to board 😂

For added fun: I always keep it on silent, so it’s an all-out manhunt every time I am about to leave the house and need to find it in a hurry.
  • According to my husband, mine is leaving a couple bites or sips left in whatever I’m eating/drinking instead of just finishing it. In my defense, I wasn’t done!! I just didn’t want the last bite at that exact second and I’d rather have it later. 😂

@blanket_girl haha! I’m bad at leaving my phone on silent everywhere too, but not that extreme. I only really lose it around the house. Thank goodness for my watch being able to ping it now!! That also drives my husband crazy hahaha.
  • @jhysmath ditto on the laundry situation. love to wash it…HATE to put it away.

@blanket_girl that is my fiancés bad habit! I find his phone in the fridge, in the car, in the mail pile, or sometimes just randomly around the house (balanced on the stair banister, on the floor??)

I think my bad habit is falling asleep during movies. I have done it all of my life- I just can’t stay awake. My fiancé doesn’t take me to movies anymore, because on one of our very first dates I fell asleep in the theater. He has never let me live it down 😂 My friends all know that if we’re going to watch anything it has to be a TV series, I can somehow watch 5 episodes in a row, but can’t sit through 1 movie.
  • My worst bad habit is reading texts/emails and not responding in a timely manner. It’s anywhere from an hour to a month or two depending on urgency. I have gotten better at texts since my Apple Watch gives me tactile reminders when I get a text and two minutes later.
@blanket_girl I also leave my phone everywhere. Again, the Apple Watch is my life saver. Being able to make my phone make noise from a distance is literally the only reason I keep track of it.
  • @laj0217 Fellow cabinet door offender here. Also very bad at it at work and get crap for it 🤣 I’m short so it doesn’t bother me
  • @blanket_girl I also forget my phone everywhere it drives my husband crazy. Thankfully I can find it using Goggles "find my phone" even when it's on silent. I also lost it from my pocket 3 times this summer and drove over it with our side by side. And had to get new phones.
  • Glad to hear I’m not the only one!

@jhysmath I did that once too with my very first flip phone, but it survived! Those things were indestructible!
  • My worst habits are leaving clothes everywhere and picking my scabs. I'm getting better at both.
  • Mine is also laundry! Especially right now. Our laundry is in the basement and our room is on the third floor I hate doing it, half the time i leave it in the basement!
