Re: Slightly Delayed (Monday) Bitch Fest 4/18

  • A coworker stopped me and said I’ve looked tired for weeks and is everything ok. Why do people think it’s okay to comment on how other people look?! I don’t know you like that! *sigh* I just smiled and said I’m pregnant, so that’s the new norm 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m conflict avoidant.

  • @laj0217 omg that’s so annoying!! I have to admit that’s one thing I don’t miss about working in the office… now everyone just looks tired on MS Teams meetings because nobody cares to dress up, put on makeup, or do their hair 😆
  • @newbabymama27 right! Is it the lack of makeup? Do we all just look normal after social distancing changed our standards and now we need to readjust?
  • @laj0217 possibly!! I was the type of person to at least put on some concealer and mascara when going into the office but now I wear glasses that hide my dark circles on camera and don’t bother with anything else 😂 I think the only time I look presentable is if I have a lot of meetings in a day and it’s with higher level clients at the Director and above level. But with my colleagues and manager… pft nope!
  • @newbabymama27 I literally haven’t worn makeup to work all year! In years past, it was eye liner and mascara. My eyes probably do look tired 😂 I dug out the makeup on Sunday for my husbands birthday, but that’s the first time in months. Covid got me slacking.
  • @laj0217 and you know what, our skin is probably thanking us for it in the long run 😏
  • Our dog has woken us up in the middle of the night for three days straight to go out. He’s 6 and fully trained (we’re also thankful he doesn’t wake us up vs having ant accidents), he will usually sleep through the night.

He isn’t sick and he’ll poop before bed, so I’m very confused as to why this is happening. My three theories are:

    1. Getting into things that we don’t know about 2. If we need to change his food (this is the food he’s been on for years though) or 3. He just enjoys the extra outing so he’s doing it just for fun…he is a beagle mix so he’s a little petty. I love him, but I swear he just does stuff to do it as a power trip.
  • Kaiser said they would call with an update "early this week," but it's almost 5pm on Tuesday and I haven't heard anything. I think of "early next week" as meaning "Monday or Tuesday," and I'm grumpy. All of that said, there's no way they'll actually have answers for us this early - all I could have hoped for was a "the culture process is going smoothly and we hope to have answers by x date."

Some complicated chromosomal stuff going on - our fingers are crossed, but this may not go according to plan!

  • @lucyg00cy My beagle mix did that when he was sick and it wasn't obvious to me. He was acting normal besides that and when I took him into the vet it turns out he had an infection. The meds they put him on caused him to have a couple accidents inside (increased thirst and water intake), but it resolved within a few days. Maybe call his doctor, just in case.

  • @lucyg00cy I hate those middle of the night runs. Our dogs (they died the year my daughter was born, they were both 13 year old labs) would like to take themselves for a walk. We just opened the door for them and normally they'd do their business and come back. I remember one night when I was probably 8 months pregnant, my husband let out the one that was alive then, the dog was on his last legs and not doing well, we carried him in and out of the house, at 8 months pregnant I couldn't safely lift him up and down the stairs anymore so my husband brought him out and then came inside to pee, when he went back out our dog was no where to be found. At the time we lived within waking distance of a busy 2 lane high way. So there I am at 4 am very pregnant driving around looking for him. We looked for almost an hour and gave up, just as I was turning on to the busy road, there he is walking in the middle of the road, we joke that he wanted to end his life when he found out that he wasn't going to be my husband's only baby. One time my husband left him for a week before I knew him and a roommate watched the dogs. He took off and laid down in the road and a cop had to come and say can you come get your dog he's refusing to get out of the middle of the road, my husband says he gave up on life at 2 years old when my husband didn't look like he was returning and left him with the roommate instead.
  • @lucyg00cy my hound mix did that when we had a possum - took us a while to figure out that was what it was. My lab mix does it now, but she’s getting older so we attribute it to age since all the labs were okay.
  • @lucyg00cy my 6 year old rescue mix Maisy was doing the same thing for like 2 weeks but since they sleep downstairs she would just poop on the rug right in front of the back door. I should add, we know that she’s part dachshund. Now we have to stay up until 9:30pm and force HER out of her bed to go poop. I’m thinking power trip, idk! Haha it is very annoying because we rise very early in this house and like our early bedtimes.
  • @lilienne ugh! Hate when they say to expect a phone call and then don't call. C'mon Kaiser, the wait has been long enough!!
  • @lilienne that is so frustrating! Any update yet?
  • @babywiik and @lalarose22 we heard back! I posted an update on the April appointments thread.
