Upcoming Appointments or Results: I went in for a blood draw for NIPT this morning, should hear the results in a week or two. I’m planning to learn the sex, so I’m very excited for this one.

How are you feeling?: threw up this morning for the third time, the second Monday morning in a row so I’m taking this as a sign that my baby is also not a fan of me working lol. I’ve also noticed an increase in round ligament pain this week, I started getting it pretty early but mostly only when I coughed, this week I had it with movements like standing up or when using my ab muscles

Rants/Raves: I’ve been getting the urge to go to a private ultrasound to see the baby again. I don’t have any reason to need to so it’s probably not a great use of money but 🤷‍♀️
Rave: I finally ordered a new bra that’s in a larger size. For the most part I’ve just been going braless, so this will be a good change, especially for the stairs lol

Questions: is anyone going to private ultrasound clinics between appointments? Is it even worth it to go at 10 weeks?
  • @ashnicell my only Easter tradition is stuffing my face with ham and potatoes lol. Fingers crossed my appetite will be good that day

Upcoming Appointments or Results: we saw baby last Wednesday and everything looked good. I go back May 23rd for another ultrasound to check on baby and my cervix. I had a cold knife cone procedure due to precancerous cells 10 years ago. My doctor likes to check and make sure that my cervix is cooperating.

How are you feeling?: all things considered I feel great. Which always makes me nervous.

Rants/Raves: rant- my son is sick AGAIN. We've been sick so much since September. It's insane. He had just gotten over a cold.  We were healthy for a week and then him and my daughter came down with another cold last week. Then the poor kid barfed last night and again today and has had a fever and diarrhea. And we havent gone anywhere because of the cold last week so I have no idea where he picked it up. I'm probably going to lose it soon!
Rave- it was 72° out today. Did I get to enjoy it? Nope because of the sick kid but atleast it's getting warmer out 😆

    Questions:
  • @ashnicell this year I'm ditching my crotch goblins and going away for a girls weekend. It will be the first time I'm away from them both and I can't wait! Otherwise we don't really have easter traditions. We usually just get together with family for dinner.

@manamo777 I've never gone to a private ultrasound but if you want to spend the money on one then do it!
  • @dumbledoredies. Sick kids are so hard!  Especially when the illness just keeps going around and around.

Upcoming Appointments or Results:  Next week is our first appt.

How are you feeling?: still dealing with nausea and fatigue.  I am definitely feeling this pregnancy!

Rants/Raves: I am also dealing with sick kids.  For the past week ds has been waking up every night having a coughing fit so hard he throws up.

    Questions:
We aren't big into Easter, but coming from big catholic families I am sure we will wind up invited to do something.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: We had our ultrasound fairly early (7 weeks) and my first prenatal appointment the week after. So far so good!

How are you feeling?: Super tired, very nauseous and bloated, insomnia, and a bit of weight gain from eating so often to stay ahead of the nausea. I also have a really bad metallic taste in my mouth - anyone else experiencing that?

Rants/Raves: Rants - My mom is driving me a little crazy with all her ideas for pregnancy announcements! She means well, so I’m trying to be grateful for her love and support. But wow she has endless ideas - each more complicated than the last! Work is pretty exhausting these days, too. But Raves - some nice warm weather has me in good spirits, in spite of the morning sickness. I love Easter and am so grateful it’s finally spring!

Questions: We’ll be telling the extended family at Easter so looking forward to that! :) Is anyone else starting to show at all? (Or feel like they’re showing?) I’ve needed to buy some new pants because of the bloating and a couple larger bras, and am paranoid that others are able to tell already! 😅
  • @manamo777 - I would love to have another ultrasound too! No real need here either - but the first one was at such an early stage that I’d love to have one now that Baby is more developed. Not sure how or if that’s possible? I haven’t really looked into it yet so welcome any advice!
  • @joyfulchickadee I googled “elective ultrasound clinic” to find some. They aren’t covered by insurance since they’re non-medical, and they were all at least $50+ in my area. Still haven’t decided if I’ll actually do it or not, but yeah my first ultrasound i couldn’t see much so that’s my main motivation
  • @joyfulchickadee. It is definitely apparent to me that I am visibly pregnant, but I am not sure how much to others.  I am just wearing loose clothing until I am comfortable telling people. My boobs are actually back to their normal tiny size (wah...wah) as I just started helping ds nurse less. I am sure they will go crazy again in a few months...oh the joys of motherhood.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: I got my blood draw for my initial labs (I have very difficult to find veins--I will save the story of this blood draw because it was pretty dramatic) and the NIPT/S test yesterday. I have my next appointment April 27.

How are you feeling?: I am sick as hell, but feeling better today than I have in a while. Almost close to normal today. I do know I am dehydrated--my blood draw yesterday confirmed that, so my doctor gave me a bunch of Liquid IV packets lol

Rants/Raves: I just need to share how good the So Delicious Cashewmilk ice cream bars are--I get the salted caramel flavor and they are so dang good. I don't eat dairy or meat (except recently when I can only keep down, like, cereal with cow milk) and they're the best non-dairy ice cream out there.

Questions: No questions, just very anxious about my NIPT results!! (And also how much it's gonna cost lol)
  • @michellelynn6 if you know the service you are doing the test through, you might be able to call and find out how much it’ll be. Mine was through materniT 21 and the brochure my doctor gave me had a number to call. they were able to give me an estimate (which was around $75 but probably depends on your insurance)
  • @michellelynn6 I had my NIPT testing done through Natera. The information I received showed the max out of pocket cost would be $99.

I also feel you on the dramatic blood draw. During my first blood draw, they got out six large vials of blood before I went white as a sheet, threw up, and passed out. They told me from now on I'll have to be laying down with an icepack on the back of my neck.
  • I just got my NIPT results back (blood drawn on Monday) and everything was good! And I’m having a boy! So excited!
  • manamo777 - I went at 17 weeks with my last to find out the gender. It was nice because it was a longer more intimate experience and we got to see the baby at multiple angles.

@dumbledoredies - gastro bugs are going around. I work in a children's hospital and that's one of our top diagnoses right now. My son got it from his cousin and we dealt with that this past weekend, and I might have it now 🤮

Upcoming Appointments or Results: labs were done last week. It looks like I'm anemic, so I'll probably be taking more iron and get even more constipated, but my early glucose screen was negative. It came back at 83 so I was very surprised because that drink is so sweet.

How are you feeling?: two days ago I felt like crap. I thought I was getting whatever my son had. I was so nauseous, tired (took 3 naps) and could not get warm all day. The next day I felt mostly normal so I went to work and felt hot all day. And now I've just puked for the first time during this pregnancy and I'm hoping it's baby related and not sickness related.

    Rants/Raves: puking is so gross.
But feeling better afterwards is nice. 🤷

    Questions: not today
  • @js1213 gastro bugs suck! They seem to be slowly creeping around and getting almost every student in my class sick.

I haven't heard of an early glucose screen.  If you don't mind me asking is it a regular thing or was there a special reason?  No pressure to answer if you are not comfortable sharing.
  • @ponyoisfun - they do it when your BMI is over 30.
