Re: Weekly Randoms, 4/11
That app has great things too but the forum is VERY overwhelming.
So… happy to be here with you all!
And my dream. Hoo. I always have weird dreams and can remember them in great detail (thanks, anxiety 😄), but pregnancy ups their frequency. No trigger warnings here.
I dreamed that I was pregnant and going for a scan. When I got there, they told me I had to go into the room with the red walls because I had fugitive status. All fugitives (my brain used that as the word of choice instead of felon) had to have appointments and deliver in these special rooms. Apparently I stole $10k from a bank because my friend asked me to, and even though she and her husband were part of the theft, only I got the fugitive status. I broke down to my dad (a retired police sergeant) and he told me that not all bad guys get caught. We were having this conversation in a parked car in the middle of the street, with other parked cars in front of us and some motorcycles behind us. Someone honked at my dad to move and he was annoyed, but it was Steven Seagal, and my dad moved and told me, "you should always move for an upstanding man like that." My dad would never say that about him, and given that I didn't even really know who he was, neither would I. Then my daughter cried and woke me up. 😄
@dsmith211 We don't need a new seat, but I'm hoping some gear we're looking at ends up being eligible! 🤞🏻
I was hoping to sneak up to Montreal for my second child's birthday in May, but I forgot my husband's passport expired in 2020 and we were in no rush to renew it because all the borders were closed. Maybe I'll take the kids by myself.
This week's fun with stats:

8) Other factoids:

I looked it up and I guess that is part of it. I guess maybe we need to stop working in the same district, saving them money by not making them pay out two insurances and make a district give us insurance buy outs instead. I feel like the only benefit we get by working in the same district is that we can drive to work together.
The additional crap part is I’m forced to also use all my earned PTO. It doesn’t extend my FMLA in any way. It just ensures I’m paid during some of the time and if I for some reason do not have any time off saved I don’t get paid at all. I also have to pay for my portion of benefits while out as well. I also don’t accrue new time off while out so I go back with literally zero time to take off for emergencies. Which is fantastic with a newborn baby. I learned this the hard way last time and have since taken precautions, but it’s absolute crap I should even have to do so.
My husband had an application out for another district even though we both applied and interviewed at one together hoping to be able to be together, and I'm really hoping I can discuss with him the benefits of being at two different districts after this. I mean I don't want to travel the 30 minutes to one district alone, but we would get a $5k buy out for insurance each year because we'd be at different schools and then we'd also be able to take FMLA if God forbid anything happened to our children. I'd say take it for baby #4 but he is dead set against another baby.
